My inbox has been inundated with notices to buy Stone Temple Pilots tickets in advance all week. Accident or brilliance that it comes when everyone I know is getting there tax refunds? Wow we have two limos full of friends going... I don't know almost like a page out of when the nineties actually worked... Sweet tickets without a VIP pass or American Express.....Priceless....

All these years later and they are all still sitting in virtually the same confused space, funny it's like for all their alleged cool they never really left home. from the outside update the Hollywood curse is no one actually talks...I don't think Ax knows he has a phone, for all practical purposes its easy for me to remember its my birthday...but as stated here everyone but Ax runs to answer it...

So you know, Slash likely still loves Cornell's style, and the man's good friends with Duff. They'd probably love to have Cornell in the band, and its more about him agreeing to do it. So whenever there's a chance, Cornell will get namedropped. The same way GNR reunion gets mentioned every now and then.
Well I love Chris voice and his writing, but I not sure he would generate the kind of emotionally vulnerable and honest discourse that sets these guys off (they are so freaking self assured it's hard to get under their tough hide and get a reaction). I certainly enjoyed a very punk rock weekend in the studio just thinking about their situation. You get what you need and it would certainly not be difficult to listen to them with Chris. I am just not sure if the charge is right to get them back to where they want to be, which is obvious to everyone at this point...Kind of what Chris is saying music needs, I don't know maybe..He hung out in Borders in Hollywood back in the day never knew them to be friends but they were finishing the UYI tour..and then all the chaos when they came back and things imploded kind of rippled, guess we all get more sympathetic when we actually talk... well some of us anyway....

Well this little hiatus of sorts has certainly enabled us to get to know everyone a little better.

You're telling me people in Europe don't dig .38 special or the king of southern rock, Skynyrd? How can you not dig free bird?
We dig it, but the genre is far from big or for that matter well recognised. I mean over here there hasn't been much of a 'want' for anything southern rock in years. It wouldn't work well in Europe.
Wow just saw Government Mule and Black Crowes rock it out.. don't know what your missing, but I suspect they do this by design....They actually like their fans and pick awesome venues. It helps to be that way in case you are honest about addiction issues.

STP will benefit more in my opinion. They are the more flexible band as far as sound and being able to incorporate what Scott has taken in during the hiatus. They will also appreciate having a gifted writer singer back. The big issue with VR to me is they have cultivated a seemingly enlightened view of negativity to themselves. He is an addict, well yeah they all are. Addicts are a pain in the ass you can't save them unless they want to be saved... Funny they forgot and I learned it from them.
The first phase of looking for a singer was so cynical, defensive and negative towards the creative talent in America it just sticks. Who would really want to associate themselves with that? It's not dangerous it's bad business . They can't go out now and say "we had so much talents and so much response to our first search for a singer we are excited and are sure this time we will find an even better fit, as a matter of fact we have stuff in the wings that is mind blowing." Nope they are so concerned with Image they don't have one. They could have oh they could have but know they are going to limp on to solo projects and European tours like they did when Guns and Roses imploded. Priceless to listen to big business, it strikes me the people they are so concerned with impressing Label, muzak, et al...can't even figure out the basics of the music industry... They made their bed... no they can lay in it...
I vote for the Silhouette, at least she looks interesting....but with the people they hang out with trying to impress that ain't ever going to happen....You just can't be A list talent following the crowd, which is why at the end of the Day I think Scott/STP will end up on top.....and VR will continue to fade from view. Not dangerous in the right way, not anymore. Might as well go with Harvey the rabbit, down down down the rabbit hole with Alice.... least she won't lie to you...... but I would agree it is easier just to hang out with the old A listers... it's safe not dangerous... They need to lose that saying or live it with some sincerity. A gifted animator won't save you now, time to jump in the deep end....

Well, seeing how they only kicked him out/he only left because of lack of interest and commitment (and not out of discontent with his abilities and performance), it kinda makes sense, doesn't it?
yeah your right it works for Journey. At least the way he chose to exit got them more press than their Label could dredge up...that to me should be a big concern for these guys....but they may be to the Izzy point in their life, just not to concerned with it all anymore.. Why should they be they made their mark...

Shake ups in both camps.. Still think release/negotiate this as a band called Chinese Democracy.... move the f on....take all these musicians of the shelf before you become everything you hate..
