Not sure how the country is going to react to no more 24/7 Trump.
It'll be weird.
No Trump will ever be allowed into the GOP again. Don't get me wrong, Trump has done wonders to steal the blue collar base from the Democrats, but the man and his family are pure toxicity. Chelsea Clinton wouldn't fair well either. Sean Parnell just ousted Democrat Connor Lamb in Pittsburgh. Look for him to be a rising start in the GOP - late 30s and a decorated combat veteran who lead a company of men in Afghanistan. Veterans like me are getting really tired of these reservists who served as lawyers and spent 4 months at a Hilton pretending to be John Rambo.
Ok, what have you done with the real Flagg. Seriously though, agree that Trump and his family are horrible people. The thing is if I think they would have won if they ran a regular politican who took the coronavirus more seriously I think Republicans may have won.
It'll will be interesting to see who they run in 2024. Either a female like Nicky Haley or a centrist like Kasich/Dewine/Larry Hogan.
Kasich is persona non grata to the GOP. And there's a good chance he gets a spot on Biden's cabinet. I know people call bullshit when I say I have friends high up in Washington, but it's true and they universally tell me Kasich is excommunicated. One of my good friends was in the room when Kasich got offered the VP slot in late 16. Niki Haley would be a fantastic pick and I hope to see her more in the coming years. I have serious doubts Biden can run again in 2024. Conspiracy nuts say Pelosi's 25th amendment nonsense recently was for Biden, not Trump. I disagree, but the stress of the presidency isn't going to help his mental state regardless of how well he is today. 82 is fucking old.

OK Flagg that was pretty funny.
Didn't Pittsburgh have a young mayor few years back? Was he one of those guys? Thought he was up & coming, may have been R.
Nah, our mayor is Bill Peduto. A fat fifty something hipster type who destroyed an entire lane of traffic downtown to make Pittsburgh more bikeable. Our signature sandwich is a 1lb cheeseburger with 1/2 pound of fries and coleslaw on it. Mother fuckers aren't biking downtown.

I'm seeing tweets from people saying Nevada can still go Trump based on ballots to be counted. I still believe Biden has this, but it's possible. Michigan looks more likely to be another Dem Senate loss. In the end it doesn't look like they got any of the Senate seats they weren't favored to win. McSally was DOA and the former Gov of Colorado was incredibly popular. I'm thinking by end of January the GOP is at 53 and 54 is a real possibility.

Randall Flagg wrote:Smoking Guns wrote:Total sham. Wow. Trump was right. Only way he loses is if the Dems cheat. And, they are.
Sorry dude, no one is cheating. This kind of rhetoric needs to end. It's not over yet, but no cheating has occurred. The polls were way off and Trump appears to be within 1% in states the experts called +10 for Biden just 36 hours ago. But no one is cheating and that kind of talk is dangerous.
Nah, it is dirty. 10 times the amount of mail in in PA? Dems knew they couldn’t take Trump on an actual Election Day so they did this mail in campaign by pushing the Covid fear and there are going to be errors. PA is accepting ballots for another 7 days. Why? Mail in should have been cut off BEFORE Election Day. It is almost as if they sit around to see how many votes they need then let the harvesting begin.
Sorry man, but your information is incorrect. At least the part of them counting ballots. Yes, our governor unilaterally extended mail-in ballots, but only ballots postmarked by November 3rd and received by Friday can be counted. SCOTUS is going to look at this and the state agreed to separate those ballots. But if Trump is losing before those ballots are counted, they play no role in the outcome. There's a million other things I could bitch about if I wanted to pout, but the courts rules and the decision was made. Everyone has known the rules for months, and it was on them to win by them. Just as I give no credence to those who whine about the popular vote because the rules are known, I'm not going to entertain Republican gripes.
Trump had 4 years to show he was a decent human being and failed to do so. He should have won Arizona and he didn't. That's on him alone. CNN and MSNBC are going to be lost without their boogeyman, and the courts aren't going to be friendly to Biden if he tries to rule by edict - the past 4 years showed us this. This is a real opportunity for McConnell and Pelosi to sit down with Biden and work out sensible legislation. Both sides are going to have to give something to get what they really want. I hope this happens and I hope McConnell doesn't shit all over Biden's cabinet nominees. I also hope Biden doesn't try to put Warren and Sanders in his cabinet, but that's his prerogative to do. He can nominate judges that the GOP can support, or he can try to find more Sotomayors. I'm hopeful, but we'll find out.
2022 is favorable to the GOP again in the Senate and history tells us mid-terms don't bode well for the party in power in the House. Hopefully everyone can see 6 feet in front of them and do the right thing.

Randall Flagg wrote:Trump needs a miracle win in MI, WI or NV to get past 270. I think at this moment he has PA, but if he loses GA or NC, both very real possibilities at this moment, it's over. Even if he gets both plus PA plus Maine's +1, that puts him at 268. Not the landslide Democrats predicted, but a decisive victory none the less. Don't be like certain people in 2016 and cry the sky is falling. I was that asshole in 2008 and swore I'd never be that irrational again.
I see a pretty clear path to 271 EVs for Biden.
Could this be like Gore v. Bush in 2000? I can't recall what the supreme court decided there...did they vote to ignore the recounts and just went by the original totals?
They stopped Gore form getting a recount exclusively in Miami-Dade. My idiot friends are telling me more than 100k votes were cast in Wisconsin than registered voters, so there's one possible court case. PA absolutely will be contested, but seems more limited to votes received today through Friday. If Trump is losing when all ballots cast/received by yesterday are counted, it seems moot to me.

I think the GOP absolutely will finish with 51 seats, good chance of 52. The runoff in January will favor the GOP too, so come end of January, the Senate could be exactly where it was today.
