I never listened to the demo much, but listening to it now it baffles me why anyone would think it was better. Guitar work may be "better" but it feels boring and aimless. S&D introduced some much needed pop and immediacy.

He died with covid, which is newspeak for dying of something completely unrelated.
Powell will always be remembered for his bald faced lies to the UN in order to drum up support for an illegal war.

Tommy Lee plays more interesting fills than Frank. He is the blandest musician to ever graze this band.
If you push "reset to factory settings" you get Frank Ferrer.

People say he won't sing because his voice is not good enough anymore. He sounded fine on that recording and that was recent. Of course it is fully possible he hasn't and won't do shit, but this CD EP or whatever is not proof either way. They don't appear to be singles to promote any album. What is good is that what S&D contributed on those songs could be good news for a possible album if we ever get one.
I'll agree the likely explanation we are getting old demos is because Axl hasn't recorded anything new. On the other hand why release them at all if Slash thinks it is shit. They're not making any money off it.

Axl can still sing and he did approve his voice on Looney Tunes. There's no particular reason to think he won't participate in new music with Slash and Duff. You might want to prepare for the devastating thought that S&D think some of the CD stuff is cool and fresh and that's why we're getting it. Doesn't mean we won't get other stuff. Axl has been wanting to work with Slash for 20 years, that should inspire..something.

The ISRC code for Absurd is USUG12103950, and the ISRC code for Hard Skool is USUG12103961.
Sometimes for albums, the codes run as a numerical sequence (I think this happened with CD and other GN'R releases), so this could imply that an entire album has been handed over, and that Hard Skool is 11 tracks after Absurd on the album. Nothing is registered on the numbers in between, but there are other tracks for other artists before and after these codes.
Of course, it might mean nothing
Any other possible explanations for the gap?

The future is a small elite with a robot work force. The rest will be forced on the government tit, get subsistence level assistance, be guinea pigs for big pharma and live in squalor.

Why is he not in the WH then? Doesn't he live there?

Glad I saw them 25 years ago. Funny to think even then they were touted as the oldest rock band in the world. It's really quite amazing they are still doing it.
All the members of GN'R being alive is also a bit of a surprise.
