GN'R wouldn't have closed again anyway. I never expected them to even want to close. I wouldn't write them off so quickly. As for the Jonas Brothers ... if it takes the tween audience to keep the music industry afloat in these confusing times, so be it. I'd much rather a group of young guys who play their own instruments to the shit we had crammed down our throats ten years ago. Besides, all Disney "rock" beats nu metal. Fact. Fuck the late 90s. I'd personally rather listen to Miley Cyrus than ever acknowledge the existence of those shit bands again. Deftones, go away.... That's right, I said it.
#802 Re: Guns N' Roses » Can Guns learn from Metallica? » 923 weeks ago
I don't have such a problem with Unforgiven III, but agree it wasn't exactly necessary. Still, this is a phenomenal album it only took Metallica two decades to make. Can CD ring the same sentiment for Guns? Time will tell. This one really took me by surprise. I'm not a Metallica fan, but have always appreciate their "trilogy." This is a great addition to that I suppose, because I've been loving the shit out of Death Magnetic for the guitar work alone.

I've typed out about five replies to this thread and haven't felt right adding any of them to this conversation. Let's just say I have an opinion and leave it at that. I couldn't put nothing, I've been sitting in this thread too long.
#804 Re: The Sunset Strip » The Films of George A. Romero » 923 weeks ago
I've been meaning to. For zombie films, Land was okay (most zombie films are shit, even Romero's crap is gold compared to most)... but it left me majorly disappointed. It by no means was Night or Dawn in any universe, it also fell drastically short of Day.
Plus the whole Blair Witch-esque twist to Diary... I wasn't in any hurry to go out and see it. I'll try to check it out now.
Curious you should say that. I agree with your opinion of Land and of zombie flicks in general, but Day is my favorite of Romero's Dead cycle. Go figure.

Overrated franchise. I stopped after I was underwhelmed by the first one. I'm happy to see an 80s style succession of sequels keeping horror afloat, but I'm not so happy about the torture porn it helped to popularize. They're just too ... MTV for my tastes.

People who don't know Phantasm should be shot. Phantasm and all its sequels, even ObliIVion, truly kick ass.

It's a great show. I caught the premiere last night and will be tuning in next week. Looks like a promising start.

#809 Re: Guns N' Roses » Will you still buy CD? » 923 weeks ago
I've been through many a girlfriend on the long road to Chinese Democracy. Each one promised to buy me a copy of the album when it came out. Looks like I'd still be getting a shitload of copies one way or another. I will show up to collect. They can count on it.

Yes, I'm buying it. I wasn't the guy dumb enough to leak it, and I don't need the internet fandom even if I could. Martyr's shouldn't determine album sales. Let the music do the talking.
