Great Pic Aussie.Yeah its so wierd to see them out of trees like that...it's just not normal!

It does make you wonder about the weather too, like days on end of 45+ really tested our limits....the power was out most of the time, the rail network went to shit, even the unfriendly animals are looking for help...it's kind of scary.

Great post thanks. I'd never seen that vid. Always thought that song was underrated...it really rocks.

Apparently I don't know the people who took these afterall. I got them from my mum who said my sister got them from her friends...but I think maybe my mum just doesnt understand the internet and it was a generic forward going around australia and not actually friends of my sister. Anyways...they're cool pics!

Reality doesn't take birthdays off.  In fact, a birthday is the perfect time to assess someone's life to date.

Yes, but assessment is in the eye of the beholder. If I look at Axl I see a guy who could be said to have some problems but also has achieved more in his life than most of us do. He has come from a tough background, become famous, wealthy, made a bunch of great artwork and thus enriched the lives of a lot of people. Is he the perfect human? No. Is there stuff he could do that would please others more? yeah. But he is who he is - and the point of this thread was to wish him well on his birthday - as a human being - strentgths, faults and all - so it's kinda distasteful to start taking shots at him - especially when there are plenty of other threads for that very purpose.

So yesterday here it was 46 degrees Celsius - which is about 114 to those of you in the usa.

Some family friends of ours live out of the city and so have some wildlife around, and it was so hot yesterday that even the Koalas came seeking out shelter with the humans. Non-australians may not realise that this is somewhat unusual...Koalas may look cute..but except in zoos and stuff..they arn't sociable with humans and generally avoid them.

Anyway...here's some pics:

Edit: Sorry title should say TOO hot for Koalas!

That was the problem for me too. I like CD, and I like the new band. I'm ok with this being GNR. I can accept that axl and slash have problems on personal and business levels and won't reunite. When I get pissy is when people start to knock the accomplishments of the old band. The old records are classics and should be respected as such, along with everyone who contributed to them. The new band, and or its fans/mods, does not need to improve its reputation by insulting the old band, I think the new music is good enough to be recgonised for its own merrit.

CD is a LOT better than this album IMO.

#8179 Re: The Sunset Strip » Chris Cornell- Scream » 901 weeks ago

Although its not in the style I prefer, I thought track 12-14 were kinda cool. I liked "Two Drink Minimum" cos its basicly classic blues...add like Clapton or Slash or someone to that and you'd have a classic...maybe some Albert King lol.

I guess its clear for a while Cornell has been going on an artist journey away from rock...Carry On showed that too.

While I prefer his other stuff, he's still a fantastic lyricist and awesome vocalist, so i'll keep following what he does, but I'd like to see him return to a more rock flavour in the future.

That's not a very good line up of artists. Kravitz brings the most potential out of that group. He could easily do without Baz. I don't think he mixes well with GNR. The Axl Baz Angel Down tracks were terrible and so was that track he did on Duff's Believe in Me.

I've got to disagree with that...i really liked the Axl-Baz stuff - especially the "Back in the Saddle" cover...that just rocked.

I'd love to see Baz do a song with slash, I can understand why politics and the need to not be Skidrow2 keep him out of VR, but no harm in an occasional song.

I don' think we'll get Josh Todd though...slash didn't like his singing voice/style...thats why he was discounted from VR I thought. Although apparently they used to jam on Crazy Bitch...so I think one or two tracks with both of them would kick ass...but I can't see it happening.
