it'd be a hell of a match....one thing is for sure CD is a very sad and ballady sort of album...where the stuff from Slash is alot more rocking,
That's why they're 2 halves of the same thing.
Look what you can make when you mix It's Five O'clock somewhere and CD....sounds a bit like a UYI 3 to me...especially if you immagine Slash playing on the CD tracks and Axl singing on the snakepit ones:

It would be interesting to see if it comes across more rocky when they play more of the new songs live. Stuff like SR - could be all keyboard or they could really hammer the tars out...be interesting....
I think even old GNR is like that a bit. Like on AFD - stuff like MR Brownstone is a lot rockier live than it comes over on the record. Just the volume and power of the guitars I guess.

I think it's personal prefrence as to if its better or worse but I agree that the guitar parts are limited mostly to melodies lines and solos. That's why in that other thread we had a few weeks ago discussing Death Magnetic vs Chinese Democracy from a guitar point of view I was saying there is far more guitar on DM that would be hard to learn. CD has bursts of incredible and impossible playing but stylisticly it's not a guitar driven sound despite the inclusion of some of the world's most formidible guitar talents.

Yeah me too. I've never catalogued what I've got but it's a lot. I still buy all my music too cos I prefer to have the actual CD (like the pysical artwork in my hands, prefer the audioreolution of CD to most downloads). But yeah i'm a bit of an addict!!!

Holy shit, i just got back from the bar, and either im really shit faced or you people are getting more ruthless by the day. But then again ive only been here for less than a week. I know many are upset by the recent turn of events, but Axl Rose is still a human being. Being critical of the material and this process and doing this to the man are two different ball games. Im trying to imagine reading things like this about myself, posted where everyone can see it. It makes me glad im not famous, it must be a terrible burden, no matter how much i may have questioned certain recent decisions.
I agree. At the end of the day...axl has now produced 6 CDs that have made a great contribution to my life. sure he does things his way, and sure sometimes what happens is frustrating to us fans...but when it's all said and done...he's a better peformer and writer than most people!

The word I keep getting from everyone is "shit" "shit" "shit" "piece of crap" "sucks" "sucks" "fuckin' gay" "Axl's washed up" "fucking sucks", etc.
Some people said that about original GNR too....Axl's voice is one of those "Love it or Hate it" kinda things IMHO...and of course a lot of people dislike the band just cos of the drama and don't give the music a chance!

TBH...I think....Bumble and Axl is a good match...so whatever line up comes along I hope he stays.
