The other thing to consider is when he originally made the anti-axl remarks he was not only young, but also a drunk, and in the middle of a tour where - let's be real - there was a certain amount of unfortunate rock-star incidents (late starts, riots), and where it seemed Slash and others would hang with metallica but Axl kept kinda seperate. In that context - I can see it's pretty easy for Axl to become the butt of a few jokes.
Myself I have a ton of respect for Metallica and GNR, both awesome live bands

seriously i thought metallica sounded worlds better on the album as opposed to the leaked album
Makes sence as the leak was prob in mp3 which is a lossly format. Unless it was like flac or something..although a lot of people have issues with clipping on the retail CD...so now there's all their fan mixes from the Guitar Hero version around...pretty crazy...Death Magnetic is rocking my world at the moment though...especially while i'm doing my exile from GNR leaks until the release day....

Anyway...i'm holding out...I figure it will make the real release a lot more fun!!
I'm all for leaks when there is no album in sight...but with a real release date a month off...i'll wait

2) In this digital age ALL of the magic of new release music is gone for me. I'm going to use this "event" to get some of it back. Even though I've heard the leaks, I'm still excited as hell for this album and I want release day to be like it was back in the day, at least for this one release.
Totally agree. It's going to be like growing up again and hitting the store on Day1 - I think i'm going to have a listening party too for some friends to get hammered cranking this shit!

I'm going to wait (unless something leaks thats not from the album) - it will be so much more special getting the physical CD if it still has a few tracks of mystery left (new songs/ unknown changes to songs/ mastering etc).
So close now huh! Just over 4 weeks! I can taste it!

Just be glad you can pre-order...here in Australia my local store still laughs at me and tells me its never being released when I go in to order. Even though they say on the radio that it will be Nov 22 here...grrr...!

I thought that was because Slash didn't want to go on stage with all of GNR minus axl though? Or maybe because he didn't want to have a fake axl singing? I mean its one thing for VR to do a GNR cover ot two in the context of their own material, but that was a whole different atmosphere. Anyway...throwing steve a bone might upset matt who he needs to keep on side for VR....
