We (Americans) are a damn laughing stock thanks to this clown.  Again, who the hell jokes about this stuff anyway?  And yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of his followers didn't see this as a joke and took what he said seriously.

There is no bottom of the barrel with Trump.  Just when you think he couldn't do anything stupider, he manages to somehow top himself.

Kudos on calling this a pos before hand.  I'm not even sure I want to see this for free (brother is offering to treat me and my nephews to this).

He was leading the polls last week! I know you hope to God this is over, but it's not even close to being so.

He was leading in general match up. Not state polling, which he never has, not even close. We've been through this before. General polls are meaningless. The numbers do not bode well for Trump.

I don't "hope this is over" but I am able to read. Data is very bad, and Trump's mouth is even worse. His party is in full freak out mode, Republicans are jumping ship, refusing to endorse, criticizing him publicly, and many are now voting for Hillary. Even the Koch brothers want nothing to do with him. He's finally hit the tipping point.

He's doing everything he can to weasel out of the debates because he knows he's going to get his ass handed to him.

So yes. I can see that this is a man who is unwilling to take advice. Unwilling to change his behavior. A man who consults solely with...himself. So he will continue this path of destruction until he loses, spectacularly.

His entire campaign staff has given up.  Did you read yesterday where the main guy Manfort basically just said fuck it since Trump never listens to his advice anyway?  He continues for some reason to continue bashing the Khans.

There is now some chatter about replacing him before the election.  And there's still 3 more months till the election.  Today Joe Scarbarough said that Trump asked 3 times about why the US can't use nukes.

Just this week alone he has: criticized fire marshalls for no reason, blamed the NFL for scheduling the presidential debates during week 1, got into a verbal war with Paul Ryan.  There's probably some stuff that I've missed out on since it's hard to keep track of the dumb shit he does on a daily basis.

I remember watching the first one...maybe even the second. It was ok...like Mission Impossible(96) on steroids. Haven't watched it since.

I never liked Damon. The media shoved him and Affleck down our throats immediately and continuously until it stuck. I'm not a fan of that type of thing. No one has heard of these guys and then all of a sudden they're on the cover of every entertainment mag for a couple years straight. Piss off. I realize this happens with everyone to an extent but you know what I mean....in some cases it is forced....this is one of those examples.

I have the same thoughts on this as well.  I'm pretty sure I've seen the first three.  The third one was the best.  I've always hated the first one since the leads in the film had ZERO chemistry together.  Well that and the driving chase scene was ripped off from Ronin.

The Mission Impossible films series are far better than the Bourne series.

Every time I watch Damon act I get bored.  I like a few of his films where he is the lead actor but that's probably because I like the other actors in those films.

I agree it's a 'joke', but man.  Siding with a foreign country over hacking is pretty close to encouraging espionage.  Are we not sane here??

His whole campaign is just comical. I think in time his ego, quick talking & wittiness will just get the best of him.  Then again, I've said that since September.

Honestly, what presidential candidate even jokes about stuff like this?  And notice how most of the other smart (read:sane) Republicans are getting the fuck away from this ASAP.

This man is not presidential material.  No big US banks would lend him money.  He routinely stiffs over the little guy/working class.  There's a lot more out there that I didn't even mention.  Oh now he is claiming he doesn't know Putin that well.  What a joke he is.

And Hiliary was never charged by the DOJ so she didn't break the law.

Latest polls are 3 weeks old though. He's been trending upwards all of July.

GE polling is not the same as state polling. And, if the argument is being made that these states are on play, I'd like to see evidence of that.

Also for both candidates, I wouldn't pay too much attention to new polling numbers during the conventions. I'd imagine we'll get some bumps, then the smoke will clear.

Bingo.  Most of these polls right now are useless.  What you have to do is follow the money.  Clinton just made a multi state ad buy that didn't include Wisconsin or Colorado.  So clearly she is not worried about that state being in play.  The states that she bought ad time for were: Florida, Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

Not to mention that some of the polls out there have sketchy methodologies anyway (undersampling and oversampling certain groups).

IMO if Hillary cant lock up CA, FL, and PA....she cant win. PA and OH are critical in the early hours on election day. OH is overrated and yeah I know how historic it is. Technically you can win the presidency without it....but the statistics disagree. 16

Here's a scenario where Hillary gets CA AND Ohio but Trump wins FL...
http://www.270towin.com/presidential_ma … /5Bz81.png

She still has to say prayers.

I'm just not seeing any Hillary landslide scenarios. I'm going to look at all the polls again(which I did before compiling these scenarios) and see if any sort of Clinton landslide is feasible.

A Trump landslide more likely but I think both have some crucial issues to deal with. Trump has to climb Mt Everest to win. Hillary has to climb Mt Everest with Roseanne Barr and Rosie O Donnell on her back to win.

Here's the thing she doesn't need FL or PA or OH to win Trump does.  If you go with the simple map  (the first one) all she has to do is win the midwest states + NV + NC + VA and NH.  I gave her COL since polls show up by a few points and she made a big ad buy that didn't include COL.  I gave her CA since there is no evidence at this time that says the state is even in play given the shitty condition of the Republican party in that state.

The point here is that she can afford to lose a lot more states than Trump and that she has more ways to win than him.  She doesn't need to win all those states he does.  Oh and there are conditions that make it pretty likely/favorable for her to win all those states.

Again, I mentioned this before but as far the GOTV machine goes, Hilary has a big advantage there since she's been in general election mode for a while now.  They already started a new voter campaign program.  Trump?  He has major trouble with his GOTV operation.

Here's something on PA from last month:

http://www.politico.com/story/2016/06/d … nia-224966

Anyway, I think you have it reversed.  Trump is the one with the mountain to climb not Clinton.

#857 Re: The Garden » 2016 Presidential Election Thread » 511 weeks ago

Someone still has to point out the actual states that Trump will win to take otherwise it's all a bunch of hot air to me.  He's not winning either of the big coastal states (NY and CA) and he basically has to sweep most of the battleground/swing states to win and keep ALL of the red states from the last election.

He might have a tough time holding onto Arizona as there are a fair number of Latino voters there.

I think Clinton will destroy Trump in the debates as well.

Cmon man.  This looks like plaguarism to me:

Obama's 2008 speech

"And Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values: that you work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say you're going to do; that you treat people with dignity and respect, even if you don't know them, and even if you don't agree with them.

"And Barack and I set out to build lives guided by these values, and to pass them on to the next generation. Because we want our children — and all children in this nation — to know that the only limit to the height of your achievements is the reach of your dreams and your willingness to work for the."

Trump's speech:

“From a young age, my parents impressed on me the values that you work hard for what you want in life, that your word is your bond and you do what you say and keep your promise, that you treat people with respect.

They taught and showed me values and morals in their daily lives. That is a lesson that I continue to pass along to our son. And we need to pass those lessons on to the many generations to follow. Because we want our children in this nation to know that the only limit to your achievements is the strength of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.”

The bolded parts I highlighted are exact word for word (except for the dash part) copy of the Obama speech from 2008.

But, having said that, my money's on Hillary: Trump wasn't even able to convince half of the republican voters in the primaries, and due to his polarizing nature is bound to have alienated more republican voters than I suspect Hillary has democrats. I won't say there's zero chance of Trump being elected but the odds are low.  When stuff like this comes out on a daily/weekly basis, he's pretty close to unelectable and a blowhard.

Also, the electoral college math isn't in his favor.  Clinton has far more leeway and combination of states to get 270 than Trump does.

I'm far more worried about the lack of creativity in the movie industry. Where does a real artist find work there these days? Most of them are doing tv work, but even that is getting completely taken over by commercial interests. Not like you can make a movie in a home studio like a musician can.

Mostly indy films.  Maybe in films filmed outside USA as well.  It's not totally dry but I do think they have to be creative and find these opportunities instead of depending on the agent.

Because it sure as hell doesn't look like the Superhero/remake and sequel trend here is ending anytime soon in regards to cinema.  At least you're lucky that you live in Europe and those trends haven't hit that continent yet.
