It's a typical Redskins move. Make no mistake, Jason Taylor is still a very good player, but trading a 2nd rounder and a future 6th rounder for someone who is going to give you one, two years tops is crazy.

KC probably doesnt want to part with any premium draft picks. They are a team being built, not really a team with a win-now mentality like the Bears would. They had a nice draft this year. They'd probably like to repeat that success next year as well.
I think its GB or he doesnt play.

Lets not pretend that Mustaine didnt attempt to go commercial either. Remember "Risk"? I know, I try not to. But that certainly doesnt take away from the other stuff Megadeth did. I think "Kill 'Em All", "Ride the Lightning", "Master of Puppets", and "...And Justice For All" are just so strong, that even though Megadeth got better as time went on, those Metallica albums are so strong that it out ways them. I would even throw in the Black album. But man, can you really go wrong with either? Great discussion!

Yeah...and releasing 4 at once would not only upstage the UYI "event" - but it would maximise the press coverage to an insane level and I think kinda boost things. Like if its one CD and 12 songs - even if the songs are all kickass the review is going to be "good songs..but was it worth a 15 year wait for an hour of music?" - if he releases like 45 songs the review will be more like "crazy axl...finally releaes his life's work...". I think he'd come off better.
Exactly. If this is true, I think it is genious. Even with the songs that have leaked, we've all heard people say, was this worth the wait? Man if throws 4 albums out at once, that would shut most up quickly.

Ahh, September... football season starts, Rock Band, maybe the VMAs, maybe CD...

I love Megadeth, and there stuff recently has been better than Metallica's recent stuff, but as a whole, I gotta go with Metallica. The first three albums are classics.

It made for some good conversation, but I too do not believe that SR is Better. Wasnt there a guy from a BH site that described SR? If I recall, that didnt sound like Better. And the big proof is the comment about the lyrics from the Harmonix guy.
But isnt it nice to have actual news to talk about?! It seems almost everyday when I log in, there's something new going on.

You're all underestimating the commercial power of this band based solely on the underperformance of a soundtrack song from almost a decade ago. The fact that Axl Rose and a bunch of hired Guns can even half fill an arena while touring behind nothing more than a repackaging of the debut album of a long gone lineup means a helluva lot. It's no coincidence they're debuting their new material on a game owned by MTV and not that "other" game. Can you imagine the marketing deal Azoff's worked out with the network(s)? Again, you're all underestimating what this brand name is capable of. Oh, and the music will speak for itself. It's quite brilliant, despite some of the minority opinion around here.
Exactly!

Who cares about U2? I sure as hell dont. I'll take CD any day. If anything, they should be more concerned about releasing it around when Metallica releases their cd. They will be competing with that fan, moreso than most U2 fans.

I was just thinking about this as I rode my bike to the train station tonight. It would be a crime to pass on the opportunity to capitalize on the Olympics. Imagine a commercial with the CD intro playing with various images of China, then after Axl screams, WHAM! The screen goes black, then appears the words 'Chinese Democracy. 11.07.08. Guns n Roses.'
Dude, that gave me goose bumps!:mosh:
