It appears to be. I'm not sure which one i have...but it seemd to have pretty much all the tracks fans like...wierd that they keep doing this.

I think a mastered and final version of "Better" will be a good song...the mix is out on the first version - and only got worse on subsequent versions where the guitar parts were clearly hiddden under the synth. A mix mastered as well as the Shackler's leak would be cool! Roll on the album I say.

Sounds pretty old school...although the clip is too short to really get a vibe of the structure of the song overall...

I just hope the album does well. Axl seems so emptionally invested in everything..i'm not sure what would happen if it bombed or was universally hated.

AC/DC has always been ok.  A lot of their songs sound the same, but hey, if it works, you might as well go with it.  Are they bigger down under than they are here?

Hard to say...on one hand nothing is bigger down under....(wow now that's a quote for my tagline 16 ) because we have so few people in all of out cities...it's hard to put on massive gigs and stuff.

Also australia has a fine tradition of "Tall Poppy Syndrome" or cutting-down and bashing stars who become 'tallest' and most famous. But a funny thing happens - once you've been out there long enough - a kind of respect seems to eventually get through to the general population and the bashing stops. Happened to Kylie as well 16

Anyway...I think AC/DC are pretty well respected here as pioneers in the rock field...and just cos we love our own. I mean the changes in the music scene and the Idol/Timberland crowd exist everywhere...but I think many austrlaians would still have a soft spot for the Acca Dacca as people call them...

I totally agree with Metallex78 too - as much as they only usually have 2 or 3 good songs per album - because they have a ton of albums out now - and plenty of hits - a live show tends to be a VERY impressive setlist.

As for commercial success, I expect GNR to do close to as well as the biggest rock bands around these days do. That means a lot less than it used to. GNR's top single could not even be top 40 and qualify as 'as successful as any rock is'. If their sales and singles (in the States) can do as well as Metallica's, and a little less than U2's, I'll be happy. The days of rock ballads ever hitting #1 are long gone.

Rock is comming back though....at least it seems to be fighting its way back over here....1980s is getting cool again! 3

Show me video or audio of something that indicates Richard can do what Robin does. Right now I think you're just guessing and hoping.

Well he's a professional studio musician...which tells me he is going to be pretty damn competant on the guitar. I'd say he could probably play any of the parts except for the more specalised 10 finger tapping/stylistic parts of bucket. Most professional musicans at that level would be able to learn simplistic guitar parts like robins.

This video displays that he is clearly on Robin's level if not more advanced:

He should be fired for that Madagascar solo. Most atrocious solo I've ever heard in my life. IF they tour again, I REALLY hope Axl has Bumble do it.

YEah but so should Bucket...lol...I've never understood the praise for that solo...i'll grant the ending few bars of the solo at RIR3 were cool - but the rest of it always sounded like an unstructured noodle to me....maddy is a great song thats been crying out for an inspirational solo in the middle for quite a while now!

It's funny that both releases over the last ten years are w/o Robin.  That's a pretty good sign right there.

14 Maybe that's been the real cause of the delay...robin's been learning the guitar 16 I did notice he played closer to the recorded versions of AFD in 07 than in 02. 16

In all seriousness though. Its not good that there is no line up. Axl seems to like to find replacements and get them on the album in some form. We can only hope that he doesn't bother with robins replacement and just replaces him live.

Who will replace Robin?  As much as I didn't care for his style in GnR, he has a "unique" style that won't be easy to replicate.

I've been thinking that too. I'm not a fan of a lot of his stuff..but his playing on the leaks - while not that technically hard - is distinctive - in terms of his style. It's going to get wierd when BBF is mimicking Bucket and then some other guy is playing like robin. Hmmm.

Then again we've had how many years where GNR was just 3 guys playing slash's parts all wrong...so i guess anything is possible.
