#81 Re: Guns N' Roses » TOP HIGHEST ATTENDED, non-festival, ticketed, concerts in U.S. » 815 weeks ago
Scratch that...technically they are on the list as they opened for the Stones on those 89 shows, and were a huge draw for ticket buyers. Still doesn't explain the absence of any 91-92 shows.
i'm late to check this thread out but kick ass job james. very interesting. good find bro. although they had metallica and faith no more with them when they played the hoosierdome, i thought that place was like 80,000. maybe not. those are pretty much the biggest names in music so.........

yeah nightrain was probably the best played and sung of the appetite songs and should definately stay in the set imo. just a bad ass rock jam.
#83 Re: Guns N' Roses » Who do you want as the opening act? » 819 weeks ago
alice cooper or heaven and hell. no worse than baz as far as sales go. maybe even better. would be cool to hear a modern day duet of alice and axl doing under my wheels and the garden.

#85 Re: Guns N' Roses » GNR tour dates in Canada? » 819 weeks ago
us tour needs to be a theatre tour with a few arenas sprinkled in.
bingo ! no truer words have been spoken. it's been said before by many people here but you play the larger venues 10,000+ in large market cities. then play a bunch of 3000 - 8000 seat places. if all goes well there will be opportunities to play a stadium type gig somewhere in the u.s by way of festival or some shit. rather have a 5000 sell out somewhere in michigan than 7500 at palace of auburn hills.

#87 Re: Guns N' Roses » DJ Ashba says GNR rehearses again!! » 823 weeks ago
i agree with you mickronson. i never really cared for the new gn'r versions of this song. patience was best live from 88-89 imo. 91-93 wasn't as good as 88-89 but better than 01-07. listen to tokyo 88 or even the ama's with don henley on drums in 89. the build up at the end is fuckin intense.

i am very loyal and appreciative of this site however i do skip around a little from time to time and found this topic an another forum. nearly everyone there had a rant as their favorite moment which really just proves their overall mentality and ignorance. lot of those axl rants and especially the leeds bitching he did and the st. louis incident weren't at all highlights but rather stupid or embarassing. anyways my favorite axl moment was when he came out in the black kilt and mean machine jersey and sang bohemian rhapsody on network television for the freddy mercury tribut concert. it seemed it was his peak and it was very exciting. not alot going on these days and i was very interested in seeing our version of this topic.
