Some things that caught my eye while reading:
Matt confirms Axl had two bands going on in the late 90's. One was GnR as we know it (by the time, Axl, Duff, Matt, Paul and Slash that was gone for Snakepit tour) and one composed of  "Dizzy and some of his friends" with Axl overseeing.

He states he teaches Axl in 97 what was a loop and most shockingly what was a bar in music theory. Really hard to believe considering Axl knew how to play the piano and wrote all November Rain's orchestrations.

On a side note, CD project started in 98 and took 10 years to see the light of day. We're already 12 years past its release.... Damn, time flies.

Finished reading. Incredibly poor written, as previously stated.
Matt has had an outstanding life and several achievements for a musician/drummer. He deserved better.
It feels like a quick cash grab where he didn't put in the effort or even the caring to make this worthwhile.
Feels like a bad celebrity blog that had its entries compiled into a cheap bus station book.

Tom Petty has passed away and the rights to his archive footage turned into a mess, with legal battles over ANY little small or big thing. Release of a Wildflowers reissue with additional tracks (it was a double album originally) has been notched and there's lawsuits flying even over his house.

Even on this situation there's going to be a stream of an unreleased concert tonight.

If you have any excuse over Fernando and TB's management or Axl and releasing material, I think it's time to see things as they really are.

Firstly, GN’R have finally announced the upcoming tour has been cancelled, due to restrictions and safety concerns with Covid19.

GN’R are releasing a children’s book based off Sweet Child lyrics later this year (an idea their manager Fernando has been working on, and given blessing by the band)

Fernando was also recently chatting on discord for around 2 hours with fans, and seems genuinely interested in improving band/fan relations. He was absolutely grilled by some fans, but he took it all on the chin, and showed a fair bit of humility through it all.

Moving forward, he truly believes that we would have new GN’R music by now if it wasn’t for this pandemic.
There is work going on behind the scenes to upload live videos from the NITL tour to their YouTube channel, and should be up “soon”...

He mentioned they have recordings of every show going back to 2000, and they’re working out what to do with them. They also have a bunch of stuff from the old days, and trying to work out what to do with it all as well, though that’s not the focus at the moment with the current band.

Thanks for the time and effort to put this resume together.
Regarding Fernando, I don't believe his lies anymore.

I've met several  of you (even banned ones, like Bono) and this question was asked:

Anyway, just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for the great times and, yes, I'm a bit nostalgic with this quarantine.

I would say expect no album this year as manufacturing and logistics, especially of promotional materials and appearances, will not be as cost effective as before.
Touring income may also be affected.

Holy fuck, this band is lame regarding new music.

If you’re not going to release anything, then continue on being the Eagles or the Beach Boys and own that you’re a jukebox / greatest hits act.

Excuses that music doesn’t sell anymore or some other fucking bullshit is pure smegma.

I know as a fan I sure the fuck won’t be seeing these guys until new music is released.

Tom Petty managed to release a lot of new music.

Maybe Axl doesn’t have his muse anymore, but at least admit it like Billy Joel.

The material this band has that we’ve heard isn’t that bad. Also, lots of shit we haven’t heard that I’m sure is good.

So get some confidence and release music or have the confidence to say we’re just a touring act now.

I love me some Tom Petty and he died touring a new album. Some might say his latest outputs are among his greatest.
But there's so many differences between him and Axl... Could you see Axl fighting the record label because it wants to release GNR more expensive than other artists? Could you picture Axl declaring bankruptcy to terms of a record contract deal to be free?

GNR camp puts a lot of the blame on the record company like it's impossible to be released from a contract. I call that bullshit.

"So get some confidence and release music" this is what the band/Axl/Beta's barn/Team Brazil lacks. And it might make you wonder why...
(hint: perhaps we already heard the best of what's been written/recorded during 1998~2016 and what's left is subpar, the muse is gone and maybe that's why they're thinking of alternatives to "normal" releases)

I was really hoping we were going to get some Fortus/Slash co-written stuff, but oh well.

I've heard early 2019 it was basically Axl material (think 1998 onwards) plus 2 or 3 left overs from the 95-96 sessions that were even mentioned by Fortis before.

Something like 80-20.

No idea how reliable this is but seems to meet sp1at  statement

What I have is just follow ups from interviews really, and getting people to ask questions.

More was mentioned on reworking Axl material because they liked it and because it would be easier to release it, but Slash and Duff have submitted material and older material exists, and Axl was quiet all last year, so who knows what he was doing.

Common sense says it will be reworked old material because of the lack on imprint on the net, and because the band are bumping out dates with confidence. Remember there were up to 90 old tracks.

Yeah, I don't think lack of material is a reason to not release anything. Maybe getting it to a "classic GNR standard" (whatever Axl, Slash and Duff think it is) is the challenge.
