Trust me had Hinder said something different nobody would be bitching about it. They'd be all like "Well that's cool. I'm not really a fan of Hinder but you gotta respect them for being objective" Gimme a break! their opinion on this album is going to reflect that of a shitload of people. People better get used to it instead of trying to discredit everyone who feels this way.
Seriously? If Britney Spears came out saying she loves Chinese Democracy and it's got some great music and vocals by Axl Rose i would laugh my ass off.
If Nickelback came out and praised CD for the level of talent- i would laugh.
It's all the same. People trying to gain fame by riding on Axl's coat tails. They know how to play the game.
Just because the sentiments of Hinder represent that of a lot of people, doesn't validate it. The simple truth is they playing the game.
It's not that we dismiss it because OF what they say. We dismiss it because pretty much everything they've made sucks more than even Libertad. It's like Sadam saying Michael Vick is a bad person. It's really hypocritical. Almost a my shit doesn't stinck kinda thing...
I don't see it that way. Of course he ain't gonna say his music sucks. He ain't that dumb. But just because his music sucks don't mean he can't find other artists and or albums shitty. Music is subjective. I couldn't write a decent album even if I dedicated the rest of my life to it. Does it mean that because of that I have to like EVERYTHING about every artists?

Axl has a way easier chance at conquering the world because if he stuck to UYI stuff, it appeals to a huge demographic. Together, GNR could rule the world no problem, if it was like the old days where the different feels of all the members pulled everything into sonic bliss. Separated, the efforts of Axl are too muddled and overdone and VR doesn't have strong lyrics nor an evolved music style. I still like VR and new GNR, but combined all the members compromising really made everything right. Slash kept Axl in check, Axl kept Slash in check.
Oh for sure they would create good music. No doubt about it. But the raw energy would be way different if there at all.

I think the hunger would be there if they got into the same room and wanted to create something to bring the rock world to it's knees.
It wouldn't be the same. Back then they all lived together in a shitty apartment and barely could eat. Now they're all rich, they've grown up, they don't see things like they did back then. I ain't saying they couldn't make a good record. But they could never make anything that would come close to AFD. Not in terms of emotion anyways.

i know... i just want to go back to 1986... remember the old times of guns n' roses.
And of course.. the band needs the right people to do this job... change the world...
i just want to give some enthusiasm for fans...sorry about the bad english...
Thing is is that it ain't 1986 anymore. And even if you reunited the 5 guys that wrote and played AFD, they still couldn't even come close to creating something that is even slightly similar to AFD. They got older, they ain't those hungry angry kids anymore. Some of them have kids, Some of them have compoletely cleaned up their act and don't drink or do drugs anymore. Their perspective on life has changed, they are more mature. If the original lineup got back together, you'd probably get a mixture of CD and VR. I ain't saying Axl can't conquer the world again, but he'll have to find another way this time around.

I agree with Bono. Had Hinder said that CD was fantastic you guys would run to the store and buy their records and say their opinion is pure gold. Personally I think Hinder(or any other band) can think waht they want on Axl, GNR and CD. I don't care. I've already got my opinion and I respect theirs. Sure Hinder and most bands of today couldn't write a good song even if their life depended on it but all you have to do is do what I do. Ignore them. They can't shit a better album than CD yeah I get it, but if they don't like CD then so be it. It's their prerogative. They are allowed to not like it. Just like I'm allowed to consider CD an Axl Rose solo album.

I'm happy for you guys that got yours. I had ordered mine on Bestbuy.ca and had to cancel my order cause those idiots can't do their job right. I had ordered something else and they lost my order. So I ordered it in Futureshop.
Edit: I won't get mine till Monday at earliest.

Or the record company. It's possible they said. Wow there you owe us X amount of albums.

i read something somewhere on one of the boards in the last year or so that was potentially reliable stating that axl was content with retiring after the band broke up but was coached into returning by the people around him.
not saying i believe it though
I believe it and without any problem at all. I think Axl wanted to retire and was goaded back in. Nothing indicates me otherwise.

You know what's really fucking sad about this is the new U2 album is getting more promo on an almost daily baisis here. I shit you not it's like every time tehy play a U2 song these days they start talking about the new album that's due out in early 2009. Today I heard a clip form an interview with Daniel Lanois(U2 producer) who said:
"The album sounds amazing, Bono is singing as good as he's ever sang. They've been able to break new sonic ground and in the process, have in some way reinvented rock n' roll. I never expected things to go so well"
yes that's blown outta proportion, yes it's way too much hype but it's legit quotes from a guy who is legitimately working in studio with the band. Not some best friend of Bono who's saying shit so he can tour with them.
My point is U2 are nowhere near ready for their album to come out and the hype for this thing is side by side with Chinese Democracy on radio here in central Alberta. I love U2 but somethings not right about that.
Shhh! According to some CD get tons of promo. I agree Bono. A few of my friends know it's coming because I told em so otherwise well....
