Yeah it would be funnier if they had made updates. Like if we had a new tentative date or something or some kind of announcment of the status of things post robin (other than the WTF message they sent out at the time...) , or even if the business problems are being resolved slowly...but in the context of the complete and utter silence, it's kinda annoying for them be joking around about it. Then again..i guess we all need humour in our lives. But damn...some news is so far overdue at this point it hurts.

His productivity is insane as is his talent. I can't say I like every "era" of Bucket but the guy is an amazing guitarist without question. I would LOVE to hear a GNR, Bucket-inspired new track. The only bad thing about that would be the "what ifs".
What do you mean about the what ifs?

maybe he did it as a joke and the reason it was pulled so fast was because someone informed him that we arn't laughing until we see an album

Well I better not derail the thread too far by getting into this. But I think the only reason Axl has needed 3 guitarists is that he wants shred in the songs. Slash only plays in his own style. Thats why axl wanted Zakk as well. Then with Robin, well he has never been up to the "guitar god" status required to be lead in GNR...ad band with just Robin and a rhythm guy would have been less than the old GNR...so they needed an edge. Yeah robin wrote some cool riffs, and the occasional cool solo like in the blues. But he can't do what is needed and that's why bucket is brought in.
The third guitarist does nothing 90% of the time in GNR gigs except duplicate a rhythm part with a different chord shape of the same chord. Now robin is gone...the shred guy (presently ron) could easily play robins bluesy bits...then his own shred solo...nothing would be lost.

You and others that claim this dont get it. The songs that will be on CD were written with three guitar players in mind thus you need them for the live shows
People always say that. Yes there are 3 guitars on the tracks. But I see very little evidence of situations where it would be necessary live. The leaks have multiple guitar parts - but so does every album - most albums have loads of guitar overdubs - metallica's black album has like 10 parts on some songs - but they don't bring out an army of people to play "Enter Sandman"
On the leaks Axl sings over the top of himself in harmonies multiple times (especially in Track 2), he also does this in the old studio albums we have, live - he just sings the most obvious line or the strongest line in the mix. This could also be done with the guitar parts.
Like buckets parts in better. Awesome solos overdubbed..the rest of the time he does nothing. If Richard hammers the rhytym parts...there isn't much reason Ron couldn't play robins parts as well as his own live.

I know we arn't allowed to say we want Slash or Bucket back...but can I say this?
No replacement for Robin.
It is unnecessary to have 3 guitarists in a band, especially when 1 of them has the versitile skills of say a buckethead or a bumblefoot.
Lets have two guitarists..a rhythm and a lead....

I'm thinking of that other theread where it was saying artists make more $ on games now than CDs, and thinking what a great way it would be to release a new song. Make it exclusive to the game for a while, then release a single, then an album.
Hope its true. But the jaded part of me thinks its just a bucket solo song that someone has been cute enough to mislabel as GNR.
