While I do not care about the mistakes in the lyrics for the booklet, I've said all along that this does feel like it was released against Axl's wishes.  And maybe he approved, but it's obvious he doesn't care.  I think we'll get a reunion and it may even happen before the end of this year.

Here's a piece of terrible news:

The lyrics still have all the mistakes in the final booklet.

But at least we got the record.

Von Solo and Russ.  You both failed to see my point.  I didn't say that Axl's tendencies to cancel shows began in 02.  It began 20 years ago.  And people are tired of that shit.  And the proof is the 06 tour.  The late starts I think he could get away with.  But the riots and cancelled shows don't fly no more.  And in 02 he had the chance to take the world by storm again and he failed miserably.  And folks do not fool yourselves.  Axl would very much want to be on top of the world like he was in 1991 ans 1992.  Want proof?  He hired Irving Azoff.  To close off.  Another difference is the revolving lineup.  20 years ago he got away with his antics cause he had another icon in his band.  Now.  Not so much.  I am a fan of GNR and want Axl to succeed.  But the way he has been acting, I doubt he will.

I disagree Axlin.  If any band had a shot at making a successful comeback wether it was with or without Slash it's GNR or Axl.  Axl blew it.  The 02 tour really hurt him.  And it could explain why the 06 tour didn't do as good at the Box Office as it should and could have.  I can tell you that I waited 3 days before the show before I bought my tix in 06.  And when I bought them I got them on a buy one get 1 free cause they didn't sell.  And even when I got there, it was still in the back of my mind that he could cancel it.  And when they got on stage until I'd say they played the 5th song I was wondering if he would walk out again (Like he did in Montreal).  Nobody likes to buy tix to a show and see it get cancelled for no valid reasons.  And when you buy a ticket to see GNR or Axl the odds are that it is what will happen.  I don't like it but let's face it, that's the way it is.

Edit: Same goes with CD.  Axl had so many false starts and so many empty promises regarding CD that deep down inside I don't think I'll fully believe that it's coming out until I get it.

Actually you shouldn't laugh at Bono.  Axl has burned a lot of bridges with a llot of fans.  And in this day and age with all the downloading, Axl will need all the fans he has and had.  He needs to mend those bridges.  Want proof?  Axl played to half emptied arenas more times that you can imagine on his last tours.  Something that wouldn't have happened 15 years ago.  And Axl can't blame it all on Slash's departure or Bucket's or anyone else's departure.  It's time for him to man up and take responsability for his actions.

Mom? Is that you?

Bumble could be the most important member of GNR if Axl wanted to.  He is fan friendly, talented and way more.  Gotta respect him.  I just wish Axl would allow him to talk more.  Even if Bucket were to come back, I think Axl needs to keep Ron on board.  Cheers to Ron!

VR also played to half-empty arenas most of the time.

Do the math.

Axl + Slash = Stadium sell outs

Both of them will only find 50% success without each other. I don't think it's got anything to do with fans. They'll find new ones, just like Metallica did after Napster.

I'm pretty sure VR's first tour sold out but could be wrong.  But see you blame GNR's tour problems on Slash.  Axl is the one that no showed many gigs including Philly and Vancouver and left gigs after a couple songs like in Montreal, St-Louis etc.  VR's problems stemmed from the fact that they were trying to have people believe they were something they were not.  A complete GNR tour with Bucket in 2002 and Axl actually showing up and completing his sets would've sold out I'm pretty sure.  Maybe Sic can help, but the few concerts they did in 02 were they sell outs?  Let's face it a band with the stature of GNR usually has a very loyal cult following.  And those bands usually sell out on tour.  Think about Pearl Jam, Tool, Dave Matthews Band and many more.  They may not sell the most records anymore but they have sell out tours.  Why?  Cause they treat their fans like gold.  I'm not saying Axl has to give interviews left and right.  I can't remember the last time I saw Vedder do an interview.  But Axl should use Ron for that.  Have your concerts available on cd like PJ.  Just be fan friendly.  Axl can still be a recluse while doing that.  If he don't know how alls he has to do is call Vedder.

Maybe you do need to break out that list because besides "Anything Goes" and "Think About You" I can't see CD topping AFD.

Jungle > Democracy
Easy > Shackler's
Nightrain > Better
Out Ta Get Me < Street of Dreams
Mr. B > If The World
City < TWAT
Michelle < Catcher
Think About You > Scraped
SCOM > Riad
Crazy < Sorry
Anything Goes < I.R.S.
Rocket Queen < Madagascar (I agree this is a personal opinion - by far)

This I Love & Prostitute are better than anything on AFD, with Jungle & City coming very close to competing with it.

This is my breakdown and I am gonna be as objective as I can.
Jungle<CD: Jungle comes on top but CD is really close.  Easily tops many songs on the Illusion records and could've made the AFD record easily.

Easy<Shackler's: Ain't even close.  Shackler's is a good song but falls way short here.

Nighttrain<Better: Again not even close and although I am not a fan of Better I always said it has it's high moments and could top many Illusion songs and as well as Think About You, Crazy and Anything Goes.

Out Ta Get Me>Street Of Dreams: This was not a fair battle but I'll give the nod to SOD here.

Mr B<If The World: Not even a close one.  If the World is good but not that good.

City<TWAT: This along with the Jungle Vs CD was a very good match.  TWAT is VERY GOOD but City is just a tad better.

Michelle>Catcher: I'm judging this by the first leak of Catcher since I haven't heard the final one yet.  Another close one but I'll give the nod to Catcher by a hair's breadth.

Think About You>Scraped: Haven't heard Scraped but I'm pretty sure it can easily be better than Think About You.

SCOM<Riad: Not even close.  Most even matched songs that you can have.

Crazy>Sorry: Haven't heard Sorry but I can see this be better than AFD's version of Crazy.

Anything Goes>IRS: IRS gets the nod by a hair's breadth and that ain't a compliment for IRS

Rocket Queen=Madagascar: 2 excellent tracks.

Final breakdown AFD:6  CD:5 and one tie.  CD is a very good record close to AFD but not quite there.  And like I said I was as objective as I could.
