#9181 Re: Guns N' Roses » Another Baz interview with Axl mentions » 939 weeks ago

When Baz first auditioned for VR Axl was in "Silent Era" mode...so i don't think its disloyal...it was prior to Axl rekindling their freindship and taking Baz worldwide with him in the post skid row/new gnr era. He then went on to appear on Baz's album. So I can see why Baz would think that going off with VR now would be bad form but was ok back then.

Regarding the free music...well...all i'll say is no one expects free stuff from any other job...I havn't got too many freebies from my dentist.

I'm going to see Baz wednesday of next week...and it should be awesome...last solo show of his i saw was fucking incredible...he really rocks a smaller venue!

Abby,

Picking up this kind of a habbit only makes your life worse. Whatever has driven you to feel this way will still exist, except now you'll have to tackle it while also dealing with the health issues, pain, legal problems and other stresses that a serious drug problem entails. Long term it will NOT be useful to remove the pain from your life.

I would recommend:

1. Trying to work out what's making you feel this way if you're not sure. Is it a relationship issue/ job issue etc. Then working out steps you can take to resolve that pressure/talk to the person involved etc
2. If its something that can't be fixed so easily. Eg - unrequited love etc, then maybe see a counsellor type person who while they can't fix the problem can teach you coping mechanisms and skills to deal with the feelings you have so you don't feel the need to hurt yourself.

I thought the whole 2006 thing showed how fast somethign can happen when it does happen though. Like if CD set a date and Axl did a few shows then the world would go off again.

BF playing on every song doesn't require the deletion of anything IMHO.

Take IRS live. He's added an outro part. So i'd guess the studio features bucket on the solo..then bumble on the outro.

Take any AFD song live. If a chord has a D. Richard will play it open. Robin a powerchord, and BF a chord inversion or something.

I think this is what he'll do. Add a solo when he's got something to add and a spot to add it without pooing on Robin or Bucket's work - and the rest of the time adding another rhythm track to the layers and layers of sound in these songs anyway. (listen to OMG..that's not 1 guitar track).

Interesting I really dig it. The bucket solo is cool, and the scream. And in general axl's vocals show his pashion in it. Although I think it takes a few moments to get going, and is repedative in places. But overall great song.

IRS is good...except when people ask too much of it.

Like I love the songs...but when you come down to it lots of great GNR songs are quite simple at heart...yesterdays...don't cry...patience....because of the whole groups talent they've made a simple musical idea great...

If you want a cure for cancer IRS isn't it. But it could be a decent rock song in the calibre of the old gnr tracks.

IMO the final version of IRS will be a strong track and it gets more positive feedback on youtube then a lot of the other leaks that are more finished.

I think IRS is a strong track. In fact i think all the leaks make for a good album when put together smile9

I just question that if there are 3 albums worth of tracks. Why is it always the same 5 songs in various forms that seem to make it out to the public.

Its one thing that makes me wonder about the supposed albums and albums worth of A+ material. Why is it always the same songs we seem to hear both live and in leak form. I guess live could be because those are the ones that leaked so why not play them. But I mean if there's so many other awesome tracks around..why is it always IRS that escapes into the wild...
