i wish slash would do a solo album without vocals
jack white is overrated
that's all for today

i'd assume that this is true with the 16 second clip of it being out there

TOTAL LOSS speaks the truth
nothing more
nothing less

perhaps he didn't make it past the title track

I still say that setlist was posted for marketing reasons only and they didn't plan to play those songs (since it was clear the album wouldn't come out in the near future). Doesn't matter anyway.
If that were true there would have been no cd songs on the set list
Where's Buzzz - I want karma for that one

The demo version of The Blues and the one that ended up on the album.
yeah but wht I'm saying is that they wrote the song (before '02) with the vocals being low and then axl or someone else discovered, after recording it, that the part in question was bland or lame so the vocals were changed. that shit happens in the studio all the time and could have happened before the demo was let out of the bag just the same.

same on both of what?

The only reason I disagree (on The Blues at least) is because he sang it with the high note at the end twice in 02 and I was there for one of them. My guess is that with that track he at least recorded it that way originally.
I agree that he sounds better on those mid to lower versions of the high notes though. I'm just hoping that those high notes in ITW don't stop it from being included regularly.
I was thinking that the notes at the end of TWaT were the reason it only got played twice (I got to be there for one of those too!) in 2006. So I'm hoping ITW goes the way of IRS & The Blues instead of TWaT
yeah that makes as much sense as what im saying but i am sticking with my stance
i think there were recorded versions of sod in '02 - hence the playing around with the high notes live
and if you look at any demos that you can get your hands on - there is always less varaiation in pitch than in the final studio versions

what and when did he alter for that song?
The last "only memories" he always sings lower than the album. He's only done it as high as the album twice as far as I know; once here in Detroit in 02 and once in Hong Kong (I think?) in 02. But he never sang that one part as high as the album ever other than those 2 shows.
It's convenient for me to say this because there is no way for me to be proven wrong but I honestly believe he's been singing it that way live because that's the way it was written and that's the way he prefers it to be and it got changed at a later date in the studio when working on the album. To me, the lower/Live example sounds more like Axl Rose and it sounds better IMO. Not saying he could hit that note live every night because I don't think he could.
