manson wrote:

but a lot of people are not as good when they stop doing drugs.

That has to be the dumbest thing i've ever read.

I'm sick of this "drugs help creativity" bullshit - yes a lot of artists use drugs - but this is because artists tend  to often be sensitive people who gravitate to the fringes of society. Sure a lot of creative stuff was made by people who were on drugs, but its not the drugs that made them creative people.

What drugs do is fuck up music. Its obvious in Slash's book that the need to score drugs / use drugs / get clean from various bandmembers and the associated lifestyles actually fucked up tours/friendships and would be recordings.

So how did drugs help gnr? Ok...so Axl penned the lyrics to Mr Brownstone and I few others based on drug experiences. But who think's he couldn't have thought up another topic? And does anyone think Slash and Izzy wouldn't have come up with the riffs anyway? This glam people give to drugs is just bullshit, how many more albums would we have had from people if they hadn;t been too high to work at their music, and don't start me on the premature deaths. Think of what these people would be recording if they wern't dead at 28 4 Stop the madness 4

If manson thinks that Axl is different now, fair enough, but rather than suggest its due to getting sober, he might want to consider that Axl was probably like 25 when manson saw him first, and like 40 the second time. Then theres the fact he was playing with an entirely different band, was in an entirely different emotional state (having worked on his issues for years)..i could go on...but why bother its just so fucking dumb.

The worst bit is the preface of "now kids don't do this" right before he suggests that its right for people to not quit drugs, and that sober performance is lacking compared to high. That's like me saying "hey - don't get offended but your a fat, moron with a small cock" to someone....just cos u add a prefix at the front of a sentance DOES NOT negate the logic of anything you say after it.

The guy has a few good songs, but this comment was just dumb!

Interesting isn't it? Like you do something wrong at 13 and all of a sudden your an "adult" - yet at 16.5 you want to have sex,  do it concentually with someone, and your instantly a child who can't make decisions again.

#9403 Re: Guns N' Roses » Shadows Fall Vocalist comments on Axl » 957 weeks ago

I think its a shame he rags on Axl then praises Slash as this will only further the fan mentality that everything is Axl vs Slash and Old vs New.

Personally I think that both Axl and Slash are rock legends and should be respected as such.

In regards to the rumours of cosmetic work being done, well, no one can say for sure, i have no opinon about the hair as its too hard to tell in that style, it does look to me that he may have had some facial work done. While i grant that you'd expect him to look different at 40 and 20, IMO the changes seem more significant than age, in particular from shots around 2001-2ish...it really looked like he'd had a chemical peel or something maybe - I havn't seen it in years but I remember that basketball footage he looked really different...but i guess part of it might have been the demanour.

IF he did get work done, who can really blame him? We live in a superfical world where people won't listen to your music unless you look hot, most actors and stuff tend to feel the need as they get older, and as a lead singer its importnt for him to keep his edge and look. He'd only be doing what was comercially smart under the warped values of our society.

Anyway..i'm getting OT...all i'm trying to say is Axl and Slash are cool, and people like whoever this guy is should show the respect he pretends to have for the old band by not talking shit about them.

I'm not much into gaming, everytime i buy a console it gathers dust, I play it like maybe 3 days a year lol.

I could also loose the fone reasonbly painlessly too, only really keep it for the occasion drama when the car breaks down, oh and its come in handy as a torch cos the LCD is bright lol.

Computer and TV (well dvd) are non-negotiable for me tho.

#9405 Re: The Sunset Strip » Love is a bitchslap video » 957 weeks ago

This is a bad video.

Don't get me wrong, I love Baz, love his band, love the albums and love the song.

But whoever made this video should be fired. It looks unprofessional - its so painfully badly cut to the song. They either need to release a live audio version with the clip so that its in sync and real, or get 'live' shots at a staged gig by miming a video to the track, (then playing a real set for the audience)  or they need to get a MUCH better editor....you can just see that like 50% of the time the guitar and vocals are not matching whats on screen...

#9406 Re: Guns N' Roses » Eddie Trunk on Chinese Democracy » 957 weeks ago

Eddie Trunk is a good guy so i don't mean this to diss him at all. But I don't see how this really makes sence - they spent so much money on it that it will be impossible to make a profit now, so therefore they're not going to release it at a loss to at least recoup some of the costs? Surely the bulk of the money is already gone from the recording sessions, so anything they make back now would be better than nothing. How does it fix anything to not release it? Or is the idea that they'd never made back what it would cost to press and market the cd? I doubt that or there would be no cds at all anymore.

#9407 Re: The Garden » Police say woman raped 200 times in 13 months » 957 weeks ago

Its unsual I'll grant...but maybe he had something over her family or something and she had reason to be afraid to tell anyone, or ashamed. Then the longer it goes on, the worse it gets to tell.

Bottom line: Its rape if she hasn't agreed to the sex and the guy knows that she hasn't agreed.

#9409 Re: The Sunset Strip » Blu-Ray or HD-DVD? » 957 weeks ago

^Yeah i was a little tired last night. LOL. I realised this morning you can downmix the sound to regular DTS or Dolby...so i can tollerate a downmix to 5.1 - i was getting scared about having 2.0...lol.
