Yes, it really was. The thrash bands were on the brink of serious commercial success helped on no doubt by the release of Metallica's "Black Album." As Lofton said, grunge was more easily marketable and radio friendly, it was easier for MTV to get behind, and they were already so busy sucking Cobain's dick they all might as well.

Anyway, on with the show. We've gotten a bit far away from my concept of a thread that showcased metal's best video moments to just people's favorite metal in general. That's fine, I'd rather the contributions. Still, I'll continue to let at least my posts drive home the point I was trying to make.
