Monkey,
That was probably one of the best worded summaries of the situation with GNR now. What a pleasure to read.
You're quite Zen about the whole thing which I think is great. For me, Ron loosing his temper with the shoddy time keeping shows to me that he has taken those first steps onto the same path as Izzy, Slash, Bucket and Robin had to walk...to the exit door.
What's worse for me is that his departure (or not) won't interest me a bit and I hate that I have been made so ambivalent about this band. That continually fuels my bemusement with Mr. W. Axl. Rose.

but people look past the good stuff and go straight for the dirty laundry
what else is there to do in reality?
- the band is slowly being demoted back into delivering the pre-CD set list. All the best songs from CD are being phased out. Yawn...
- the Twitter incident showed that Axl continues to keep very weak people in positions of authority and control in his organisation.
- nobody except Ron has DARED even ALLUDE to offering an interview with any real information in it so its hard to follow a band that offers a vacuum in response to your declared interest in them.
- Axl's fight with Azoff should be a humdinger and is more compelling than watching GNR III play 'Welcome to the Jungle' again.
The fact of the matter is that when you compare how GNR goes about their business when compared to any other modern band, its a flat out trainwreck
With no surprises in this old set they are touring, no interviews to read/listen to, no other fan interaction of any type to gravitate towards; the dirty laundry is about all that keeps many of us here.

Some points to consider here dudes...
Hacked Twitter issues or not, we have a global brand once again failing miserably to manage something as minor as a rogue sentence on cyberspace. Seriously, what can this team do well?
Nobody in the band could comment / refute the Tweet because they are employees not partners and probably didn'™t know.
Everybody knows that Axl is more than capable of instigating such a reactionary, ill judged, cataclysmic move like this, so this kind of announcement from him could not be called '˜out of character'™
Axl has employed mostly hangers on and wholly unqualified staff to manage much of his life. Where were they when this first went down? Asleep on the job!
Do the rest of the band/Beta follow Axl on Twitter? If they do, they would have had the message as quickly as the rest of the world and could have warned Axl and had it quashed in no time. The protracted delay in a reply from any of the entourage probably means that they thought the Tweet was real.
Who else would be in a helicopter after midnight landing behind the stage? Have we established if Axl was there with the band at 11pm or was he on the chopper?
His first gig in the US in 4 years, bet he was nervous which has previously lead to wacky behaviour like walking off or not going on until waaaay late, when he is ready.
If Axl was held back from performing until so late, why didn'™t he explain that to the crowd? If it wasn'™t his fault why take the shit from the crowd for it?

And to finish I agree with Mick above. The man was molested 40 fucking years ago, time to get a grip and move the fuck on.
Axl's problems are his excuse to act the diva. I was molested and it took me a few years to get the grips with the issue. I didn't have the luxury of millions of dollars and yes men around me to allow myself to behave as Axl does. Stop writing the guy sympathy checks and call it for what it is.
#985 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl fires back at Irv with lawsuit » 826 weeks ago
maybe Slash does know more than you think. Maybe him and Irv are still mates and talk? Maybe big evil Slash was the puppet master devising a diabolical plot with Irv to force Axl back into his clutches..
Come on people, some of you are waaaaaay too sensitive to Axl's needs and over the top about Slash's motives.
Think about it, Irv resigns on the 'eve of the tour'. That means for the previous year he was probably working on getting those dates organised. It is possible he is seeking monies to pay for that years work he completed. That is what Slash appears to be saying to me. Nothing more. He finishes his statement distancing himself from the whole thing.
Bizarrely, some of you feel that even something this harmless gives Axl a free pass to call Slash a cancer even as his mother lay dying from the disease. Fuck me.

Axlin08 is spot on about the Activision comments. Axl is not telling the truth. Those guys would have music lawyers up the wazoo making sure they didn't cross Jagger, Rose, etc.. it would cost millions.
Jagger is the sharpest in the game..

#988 Re: Guns N' Roses » LOL!!!! Axl on oprah, yeah right... » 827 weeks ago
Bret would probably be much more like it yeah.
Axl won't be doing any in dept interviews except with Del. I think he remains far too uncomfortable with the probing journos love to do.
As the gatekeeper for Guns he has more potential shit to deal with.
#989 Re: Guns N' Roses » Rumors building up regarding CDII release date... » 827 weeks ago
