van halen is 1 and 1 with new singers lol

alterbridge is creed with Miles on vocals

Unified theory is Blind Melon minus Shannon Hoon

Pearljam is mother love bone with vedder on vocals after Andrew wood died

pink floyd, sabbath, genesis, alice in chains retained success with new singers

When maynard james keenan left a perfect circle they came back as Ashes Divide

motley crue sucked without Vince

faith no more was more famous with patton than their orig vocalist

INXS got JD fortune to prolong their career after Michael died

the move is kinda hit and miss i guess

I think Motley Crue's album without Vince might be their best.

Coudn't disagree more on those two.

Alterbridge are an awesome hard rock band with great music, great guitar solos and great meaningful lyrics.
I can't fucking stand Creed, they suck ass because of Scott Stapp.

Same with Motley Crue. They released a big fuck off heavy rock album with substance and grit, much better than anything Vince has his name to.

Oh don't get me wrong, I dig the crap out of all the Vince material. I just mean to say that I enjoy that one album the most out of all of them.

Here's something weird about me and VH: I think Dave is easily the best front man for the group, but my favorite album is 5150.

I love 5150 as well and I agree Dave is the better frontman.

Never understood why everyone loves Dave, to my ears he doesn't sing very well and his whole vocal style sounds bland.

Leaves's me in a fix with VH....because the good guitar numbers all have Dave.....then in the era where there's vox I like (sammy) it's mostly synth.....

I think Pete Townsend voiced a pretty similar objection back in the day. Dave is all about the performance, the embodiment of the late 70s early 80s party train, and just a fun dude to watch and listen to. That's why everyone loves Dave. In some ways, he was VH's "hype man." Dave-a Flav.
