Let’s not forget that Duff said about 6 months ago that “new music is coming out sooner rather than later”

I’d love to know what kind of a world they live in where 6 months and counting is “soon”

I read your first sentence and went into a rage....then I read your second sentence and thought, 'ah, he gets it'

Axl struggled - his mid-range is deteriorating.

Wish he'd just abandon the idea of doing the high notes and just fully commit to singing in a lower register where he still has power. Build the setlist out of songs that are in that range – It's So Easy, Bad Obsession, Mr Brownstone etc – and rework the others to sit in that range like he did with Nightrain and Estranged at that one London gig where he was ill. Obviously you'd have to keep SCOM and probably Paradise City in the line-up, but two songs isn't going to be too taxing.

Its the style. Hes trying to sing SCOM amd other songs in complete falsetto. Which is why they sound weak, cracked and feeble. When he goes really high, there is more force applied. He no longer uses the heavy mask, head voice + chest for power. Its all coming from his head voice, in pure falsetto. So when he sings this way, it sounds so much weaker than what we've been used to. It started in 2000/01, here amd there, and it's progressivly taken up his entire sound.

If he could still use his signature style of the mask and resonance, he would. But incant imagine he could do that for 2.5 hours 3 to 4 days a week without having to cancel shows. In the studio as we've heard, hes also implementing the all falsetto style (expect his lower registers) so it sounds the same way live. Whether or not he could still record a one of song using his vintage singing style doesn't even matter due to the fact he couldn't pull it off while on tour regularly. Thats what I believe has happened and why he hired a vocal coach to teach him how to sing falsetto and save his voice for the long run. Or maybe im wrong. But I don't think I am

So it’s June 6th and nothing but crickets? Was there a change in the schedule or did those marketing plans never reach Axl’s desk?

I guess they’re still wrapping up their show. Maybe they’ll debut Atlas in the encore. I’m not betting on it though.
