I haven't watched a recent movie in a while but  did binge on Stranger Things ahead of the finale. Loved some of it, hated some. However, it left me with a terrible longing for the early 80ies. I intend to watch Marty Supreme at some point, as well as the new Wuthering Heights and a couple others.

I rewatched Moby Dick with Gregory Peck. Amazing movie. The last recent movies I remember watching were Nosferatu and Poor Things and that was like, a year ago.

I seen like 40 films or something in the cinema last year. Marty Surpreme which didn't get a wide release till a couple weeks ago was probably better than all of them.

It has a very cult classic memorable (everyone  in a decade will know the film) type. Not saying it's a masterpiece, but it is very enjoyable.

Disliked the Nosteratu remake. Very bland generic remake of Bram Stoker's Dracula (which it originally was supposed to be apparently). Good cinematography, but not alot of depth.

On Stranger Things. I liked the show originally, however really disliked the final season.

Way way too safe and it felt like there wasn't much of an idea despite the break of years inbetween seasons - big budget and extended run times. It's too heavily padded and way too many side characters who suddenly become main characters.

Definitely liked Poor Things, but honestly Buogina that also has Emma Stone in it from last year was better. One of my favorite films from last year.

As for for some of the earlier complaints in the thread about modern films. I honestly just think that people aren't looking for the right stuff. Cinema is very much alive, you just have to stop looking for the popcorn flicks and the marketing.
