I thought Axl sounded much better last night, at least from the short clips I've seen, even on Rosie.  It wasn't as good as last year, he sounded killer on that song last time out.  But it certainly is a step in the right direction.

I'll take 2002, 2006, 2010, 2022 Axl.  It really doesn't matter to me.  As long as he isn't missing lyrics to every other song and is in good spirits, it's all good.

Some short clips from Carolina in the crowd.

Tommy is fucking drunk and he deserves it.

Anyway, TIL sounds good. His voice fits the song well now. In Oslo, he was so raspy it sounded like something was coming out of his throat any second - like his lungs. Good stuff there.

Those Estranged clips were almost touching to see. The fans going crazy for it, Axl on two of the monitors singing his heart out on what's prolly his most personal song. Back in form, the crowd is massive and loves it. It must have felt so good for him personally to just make it thru Rio alive and back in form in Chile, feeling all that love from a massive stadium filled with Jarmos. And what's wrong with that when it sounds that good.

Seems like a really good vibe there with the band.  That's cool 9

I've watched a few vids of last night and I think they sound pretty damn good to be honest. Sure his voice hisn't bang on and there's moments where he sounds like 02 but there's also plenty of moments where he sounds like he did a year ago. After a faltering start I'm glad to see that they seem back on track.

From the bits I've heard Estranged sounded amazing again!

That cant be entirely accurate, they played Rosie and allegedly Madagascar as well...

He sounds terrible right there. 2002 helium on an AC/DC song is garbage. sad

Terrible?  I think that's a gross exaggeration.  The "helium" you're referring to is his head voice, which in reality he should use to hit the higher notes as opposed to straining his chest voice or poorly blending his chest and head voice.

Regardless, from everything I've heard I can confidently say that Rio was just an off night and Axl will be fine.

Man, I sure hope that play neither Nice Boys nor Whole Lotta Rosie when I see them in Chicago and Detroit. I have never liked either tune. So many GN'R classics to get to before those covers.

Hard to say for me...   I don't know if I'd listen to them on a record, but I think they'd be fun to hear live!  Give me Rocket Queen and Estranged and I'm happy! I'd take Rosie and Nice Boys instead of Live And Let Die (not gonna happen).... or instead of nothing.

Love to hear Sorry, This I Love, or Scraped live since Chinese wasn't out in 2006 when I was at Chicago last time. But I'd give those up for Oh My God!

I wish my name was Tommy.  Then I could replay Axl singing to ME every year on my birthday.  16

Good to see Axl in a MUCH better mood last night.  Big sigh of relief.  Just an off night in Rio it seems.  Hopefully we can put that one to bed now.  Until the next blowup that is.

Until then, I think Milli Vanilli explained GNR's problems the other night the best.  (Forgive me for this)

I'm not saying he looks like he's in tip top shape by any means, but I look at this picture and I can't help but think, "where is the alleged huge amount of weight gain?"

Another one from Carolina.  I wonder how, why, who chose this song.  Seems like an odd choice.  Never heard of the song before Sunday.
