The above people have a similar story.

Beta
Axl
Fernando
Jarmo
Dizzy

The list above have a different story

Which group has a bigger interest to lie, fib, or stretch the truth?

Everybody has their own version of things.  Who's to say anyone is lying, fibbing, or stretching the truth?  There's 2 sides to every story.  You can choose to believe one over the other, but it doesn't make the other side complete fiction.

Sure two sides have their story, except one side was actually there, and a core part of the rise of GNR bar one guy axl.
The other side are hangers on who were not there (unless being a housekeeper was "there") and the last one is simply a grateful musician who knows his place.

For a guy who never wanted to become big he sure always took a keen interest in financial affairs. Maybe that's why he gets along with Axl, they both expect their Larry David esque twisted version of social norms to be accepted without question. Izzy thinks he was a dick for taking over the old band, Axl thinks he was a dick for not bothering to show up for band work consistently and not pulling his weight while getting the same pay. With age they've perhaps both learned to live with that as it is.

The issue with Slash seems to be his double talking, avoidant nature. You don't want to let Axl's mind do too much of your character interpretation for you.

What "lies" are we talking about though? Axl was a dick, a tyrant, and was underhanded in gaining control of the name? Not only can that be defended, but even if that was the case who's to say he's that same person in 2013. Now I don't think he's gone through a major transformation and he's now an angel. But he has seemed to mellow out over the years and seems to be in a much better place in his life. So if people from his past are remembering him for and judging him off of who he once was. Well that would obviously be a different viewpoint from those who are currently in his life.
