That is where Jacob Bunton, singer of Adler, told me back in October that GNR was reuniting and the original 5 would tour. I posted it here and ID said Bunton didn't know what the fuck he was talking about and that Axl was committed to CDII was his priority but maybe one day in a few years Slash may come back.

I can willfully admit I was wrong about Slash, but in my defence I said when DJ left I wouldn't be surprised if Slash replaced him.
What I know:
GNR had plans to release CD II and tour in 2016. Duff had rejoined which was kept quiet.
Nikki Six gave DJ an ultimatum, Six AM or GNR. thank God for Nikki, cause that got rid of DJ.
Axl was totally blindsided by this as DJ was adamant this wasn't going to happen, hence the band talking about 2016. At this point, Slash and Axl had already buried the hatchet and Slash was either offered the spot or volunteered.
This all happened very, very suddenly.
Rehearsals started, and Slash has been in the studio.

Only GNR could fuck this up. Why does Axl feel so obligated to keep the hired guns on? I still believe Slash and Duff will do it right which means we get the original 5 pro shot

For the record....imo, original 5 should do Coachella...after that, go hybrid.
At least do AFD the first weekend of the festival. Maybe do the hybrid the following.

I don't think it was that quiet about Duff rejoining. Hardcores just didn't accept that Duff was presumably fine with the band as it was.
There's been numerous posts on social media by whomever runs that for the band (I'm guessing Del James/Fernando) dating a while back, with Duff featured. There was even old pictures of the band posted, that just happened to show only Axl/Duff. Duff's basically played as much as Tommy has over the past few years.
