Yeah .. I doubt Ides of March is Nothing. Seems like a huge stretch.

On the other hand, they seemed to have a fetish for constantly changing working titles...and if there was a brief attempt at sticking to a particular theme, it's possible Ides and Circus were two different songs.

How the hell does Oklahoma morph into Berlin? What's the connection?

Look at Seven.... God only knows what that really is. Devious Bastards has a clip of the Mercury 7 astronauts.

Coincidence?  Did they scrap this song.... obviously a Bucket song ...but reuse that clip for Seven?

There's very little rhyme or reason to any of it unfortunately.

I know one thing.....the CD leftovers and the Village leaks show us that just because a song title appears to be epic doesn't make it so...even if described as such eons ago. A song that might have been epic couldn't be because it was simply abandoned/relegated to the "B list".

Did you ever have any luck locating that 2001 setlist pic with Oklahoma as an alt for Riad? Some on Mygnr have questioned its legitimacy. Hard to have a debate either way with the pic seemingly lost media at this point.

It's lost to history.

A shit ton of GNR stuff is gone.

All that Eat My Silkworms crap

The few CD era studio pics of GNR

Shit tons of emails from Brain, Merck, etc.

No one realized back in the day the importance of archiving all that material. Remember...the internet is forever...or so they said.

By the time sic started archiving CD Whispers, a lot of this stuff was already gone.

What you're saying is completely true.
Thank god for Sic and the guys who put Chinese Whisperers together.

Re: Tracks missing from the leaked CD's

I’m assuming there is more studio sessions post 2001? Seems odd we don’t have any account (at least on paper) of them.

There's accounts of various studio sessions post 2001 in Chinese Whispers, although it does sound like the busiest activity was mid 90s through to 04.

It's a shame studio logs are not publicly available. Depending on an artists contract they are either property of the studio or artist and I'd imagine for GN'R that means Axl. The only way to probably get info on studio sessions would be through speaking to retired engineers who had no intention of working again.

When based in New York he tends to use Electric Lady Studios which was built by Hendrix, pretty sure that's where Brian May recorded his parts. A village style leak of stuff from there would be interesting, i'd love to hear what May did before his takes were edited together by Axl and Caram.
