#1011 Re: The Sunset Strip » The BATMAN Thread » 900 weeks ago
Batman Forever... Batman & Robin... can suck my fucking dick. Those films were basically a modern day creation of "camp-Batman" from the 60's.
But I get tired of the hate on Burton's Batman films. Those films are solid. At the time, people thought they were great. And I still love them.
Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Begins & The Dark Knight are my children. TDK is the best, by far, but I love them all.
my thoughts exactly axlin.... the schumacher films took the great "darkness" from the burton films and transformed it into a cartoony mess.. they were awful....
and my biggest concern before i saw TDK was "can ledger even begin to stack up to nicholson's brilliant performance?"
Well.. needless to say...
the kid fucking BURIED HIM...

#1013 Re: Guns N' Roses » Chinese Democracy Chart Positions Thread » 900 weeks ago
Based off this album alone, I don't think I would buy the next album.
whatever few misgivings i have about this album.. it will NOT stop me from buying the next one. There are waaaaay more positives than negatives and i am a sucker for more material...

Oddly enough, I do well with the ladies.
I must not be half bad looking cause, now that you mention it,
I wouldn't exactly be seduced by my request either. In my defense, I would choose a different approach if I was face to face with him.
It's all good. *lol* I've always wondered something though war. Who in the blue hell is on your avatar?

#1017 Re: Guns N' Roses » Brian May Talks About Catcher n The Rye » 900 weeks ago
but I remember having strong 'producorial' feelings about making sure Axl's great vocals didn't get swamped in too much guitar ornamentation.
which is eventually what happened.. at least on catcher

the only potential throwaway on 5 o clock is jizz da pit...and maybe doin fine
great record...
i think axl and duff walked away from it because it is a bit "redneck blues" for guns... but all in all a great record... i heard slash and eric dover do beggars on waaf back in the day.... i lean more toward that version... had a waaaay more cool, laid back back vibe.. i hate everybody (but you) is a bad ass song..
edit...
it took me YEARS to get into ain't life grand. it initially turned me off cuz i loved the first one and it sounded like a cock rock all star record...
but i've grown to appreciate it more in the last year or so... when it came out i bought it and listened to it ONCE... and thought it sucked. bad...
#1020 Re: The Sunset Strip » Finally... new alice in chains.... » 901 weeks ago
lets keep in mind that layne wasn't the only singer in that band... i think it'll be good. it ain't any different to me than replacing slash, izzy and duff in gnr...they were a vital part of the sound.
i agree with you guys.. i do... layne had that feel... he gave straight blues songs an "off" sorta vibe that can't be replaced...but to say he "was" AIC?.. i dunno about that...when i think of alice in chains.. i think of more than just layne's voice. the best songs are when cantrell would sing and layne would harmonize(brother)....and cantrell was the genius of that band..finding layne was one in a million... he gave them that uniqueness that helped them rise to the top....he was brilliant...but he was fucked up..then he died ....and they paid proper tribute to him.. now they want to continue...why not?
anyone ever hear of the band "Talk Show"?
some might.... that was a decent record that got ignored because there was no name recognition...
it's not fair to the remaining musicians in my opinion to say "one of 'em is gone so they need to change their name".. they ALL built that name.. not just layne.
there are only a handful of bands EVER that could not/ would not/ should not continue under the same name without a member that has died...
Zeppelin
The Beatles
The Doors
Pantera
