#1721 Re: Guns N' Roses » GIGWISE Lists Axl Rose as #42 on top 69 Front Men and Women » 949 weeks ago
He did it a lot in 06 and 07, stopping songs to have someone kicked out or in some cases security
They're not all on youtube but route through the 06/07 tour archives and read peoples reviews there's a lot of shows he stopped a song halfway through for whatever reason.
#1722 Re: Guns N' Roses » Claim About The Finished Album Sucking (Ross Halflin) » 949 weeks ago
There's certainly something odd about this, he said the album was amazing only a few months back, now he couldn't get past 2 songs. Weird. My biggest concern is that he heard the leaks when he described it as amazing and now he does have a finished version it's nauseatingly over produced and not as good. I don't really care if he's heard or not, plenty of people have heard it, Baz said in a recent interview that loads of people have heard it so someone with Halfins connections I'm sure wouldn't have too much trouble getting to listen to it.

Besides, if he got this "fax" that stated Axl was gonna leave and take the GNR name with him, where is it? Wouldn't you keep a fax like that if it was gonna change your entire life, your career, threaten your livelihood, threaten your family in effect, make everything you worked for obsolete? So, where is this fax? I'd like to see it. If it ever existed, we would have seen it by now if for no other reason then to discredit Axl.
like i said this Fax has already been a source of evidence, but the courts ruled that Axl was in his legal rights with said fax....its a know event to have happened
How come we haven't seen it?
Why would we have? It wasn't a fax for us, things like that would only get out into the public if the owner wanted them to. I'm assuming Slash did keep the fax given it's importance like you said and Neemo said it was used in court so it exists in some form. Why do you think something like this would become so public?

I know.
But there was just that special vibe surrounding the place when I first got there and during the first half of 2007. It was exciting. On a daily basis. (GN'R related or not)
It was the first community, in which I, felt welcomed to. That means something to me and it still does. And I have a lot of you to thank for that.
We're still the same, but we're in a completley different state this time around regarding Guns N' Roses.
I guess I've been away too long. I love this place, and I regret for not coming here sooner - but that's how I see it.
Well we all loved ROV too, and it saddens me and others to see what it has become but in the end we had no control over that. Like you said GNR themselves play a part, most of ROV's lifespan was during GNR's most active period in 15 years, this site launched during GNR quiet time, after a while the excitment of another Baz interview kinda wears off.
We've tried to recreate the friendly and respectful attitude of ROV and hopefully when GNR starts up again the excitement will return as well. Until then we hope you feel as welcome here as you did at ROV

Yeah Paul Huge certainly doesn't come off looking too good in Slash's book. As a person and musician Slash is pretty scathing of him.
I doubt any of those jams have ended up being the foundation of anything that will be on CD, I guess an odd riff maybe but as new musicians came to replace the old I think any work from the old guys would have got scrapped or reworked and diluted to the point where it's nothing like what Slash or Duff worked on 10+ years ago.

#1728 Re: The Sunset Strip » Overrated Bands » 950 weeks ago
I considered putting both Stones and Beatles in my first post however when I thought about it more I left them out. Considering how big both bands are I've never thought their music warranted such popularity, but you tend to forget they were really the first of their kind. Had either of them broken through in the 80's or even 70's they wouldn't even be half as big as they are. When current bands are asked their influences Stones or Beatles are usually mentioned and if they are not, then the bands that did influence them would have been influenced by Stones or Beatles, in terms of influence there's very few degrees of seperation between any band around today and these two bands. Better bands than the these two have come and gone since but they only got the chance because of the these two bands in the first place. I think musically perhaps they are a bit overated (Beatles more than the Stones) but their achievements and what they did for music warrants the hype imo.

No it's 2012, 25 years after AFD came out is when they are first eligible. Of course there's no guarantee they'll get inducted in 2012 but it's likely they will.
#1730 Re: The Sunset Strip » The Video Game Console Thread » 950 weeks ago
I said ages ago on ROV games thread to James that I thought PS3 would win the war eventually and I still stand by that.
Wii have got a niche market in which it's peoples 'other' console, because of it's price and gimmick few people own the Wii as their only console yet there's no other console to directly compete so as a result it sells millions. Which leaves PS3 vs 360 and it looks like the tables are starting to turn, I don't expect the PS3 to murder the 360 like PS2 did to Xbox but I still think in the long run it will be the more popular console. Now Blu Ray has won the war and the quality of games for PS3 are improving I think things will only get better for Sony.
