A full recording of the song exists from the party.

In a way I do want it to be posted online so that all of the rumors can be debunked for good.

How you know it? If true i hope it has a better quality than the cell clip

Stay of Execution is still appropriate….too much work for them to do an album…that’s pretty obvious.  I sent my brother the Perhaps video and he liked the song but it was “perfunctory”….look at the definition of the word…something done with little effort.

Totally agree. I think Perhaps should have a different lyrics for the second part and don´t repeat them once again. The Slash´s solo is worse than the Robin´s original and probably they could be made a bit longer the song. Anyway, i like it.

I remember and interview Axl saying the second album would be more electronic oriented and the third one nobody was prepared to find a relación between old GNR and that album. So i suppose he was exagerating then or realize that a lote of those songs were not enough good and leave them pass...

The question is where the fuck are those songs supossed to fill up two and a half or three albums according to SB or Axl?

#175 Re: Guns N' Roses » The General confirmed next » 96 weeks ago

Anyway i don 't want to believe state of grace, silkworms, quick song etc are the leftovers or the BEST songs after CD. I think The General, Seven etc are better than those. I would be dissapointed if the best of CD era are SOG, eye on you, QS... can't believe It.
There must be great songs un the vault and i hope the general, Seven and others are still there and we still haven't Heard them.

At least we have Absurd, HS, Perhaps, The General and hooefuly remade versiona of Atlas, going down if posible, Seven or whatever they have un the vault before récord a new álbum composed by Slash, Duff and Axl...

I'm really excited for this song. I hope this to be a Big guns song. I love CD and i think is so underated for the fans.
I dont want to change somebody opinión. I like HS but i think is an average song. I like perhaps but i think Axl could have developed more lyrics in It and maybe do It a bit longer.
And finally Absurd... it's an experimental song but It doesn't fit. I prefer Shacklers revenge or Oh my God as industrial oriented songs....
We'll see how the general sounds!

#178 Re: Guns N' Roses » The General confirmed next » 96 weeks ago

Sebastian Bach said something about the general being obscure song with the high Axl screams... It was like november rain, the heaviest GNR song ever made.
So we are waiting for a masterpiece and that's dangerous because maybe the song is not that good.
Remember Bach said IRS was the new WTTJ ... he is a bit exagerated i think ?

This is what really brings him down several notches in my book. He used to be #1 on all my lists in my youth...now he's lucky if he can crack the top 10.

He didn't have anything to say about the massive cultural shift of the 21st century. That just blows my mind. Like you said, anything "new" is from a time capsule when he was dealing with Slash and Steph shit and couldn't get over the implosion of GNR.

This is the biggest issue IMO. Axl is a really good songwriter, he's an astute observer of the world and its prevailing political, social and cultural trends… and he has had nothing to say lyrically since the early '00s. To take a random example: when he was ranting about Trump on Twitter, why wasn't he channeling that into a song? Why isn't he writing about the state of the world now, instead of the state of his relationships in 2001?

I remember an old interview Axl saying he wasn´t be similar to Iron Maiden due to the lyrics. Rock n Roll shouldn´t be used to talk about POLITIC issues...

Abd finally, i think CD has great songs that could fit perfectly with the illusions era... Chinese, Better, Shackler, Prostituye, CITR, Street of dreams etc
