Didn't Tommy want this song back? He probably wants to release it on a solo album.

The real shame is they didn't let him perform it on those tours just begging for new material. He had to sing covers instead.

He did Motivation from Village Guerilla Head which was cool. Didn’t just do covers. But i see your point. The band has a history of other band members singing GnR material beside Axl. Why did they fuck up Going Down?

+100000000000000

Its got a hook! What a novel idea! I love this song. Would rather tommy release it solo.

Golf clap

Still plenty of time to back out!

That’s awesome. A little strange they included an obvious sexual assault in the intro trailer but still!

And Axl in One Song of new Slash solo album?
Possible?

Probably not, but now that you mention it…it may be an easier way for Axl to release new music with Slash without the pressure (critical and financial) of the guns name.

I think that be true for some of them, it not like they merch so much crap out of stuff because they like the designs, but i also can't really think of a band that has left more money on the table than GN'R. They would have made more money if they reunited sooner & sold more music if they promoted it. So it can't just be that alone.

I’ve already been proven wrong I guess but I do put stock into “we’re not working on this to keep it buried.”(paraphrasing)

I don’t think Axl is worried about perception. He’s got Slash and Duff there to shoulder the criticism with him. For fuck’s sake the first “new” song this lineup released was fucking Silkworms.

I find this less consequential to GnR related activities than a SMKC album. I know they are touring in early 2024 but this feels more like a passion project than a “fill my calendar project.”
