Oh God no. Axl's voice is in no condition for a live album. It's a sad shock not even a single has been released. An almost 4 year tour cycle and you can't write one song?  Goes back to my thoughts that a new record was never part of the reunion plan.

You’re right. But imagine if they had said that at the time?!

Sorry not for me. If GNR had an extensive back catalogue I might be interested, but TBH hearing Jungle etc again and again just doesn’t interest me. If AC/DC can release albums in the pandemic why can’t GNR?

Don’t worry folks there’s always the massively expensive pinball machines if you want something cool. Personally I’d rather spend my money on new music!

It’s funny how genuine excitement for this band back in 2016, could turn to such shit 4 years later...

True. I think it all boils down to one person though...

unless it’s older footage I’m not really interested. I hope lockdown has given this band the opportunity to double down on getting new material ready for release or at least start recording for a new album when they can get back together. For years I’ve heard ‘you don’t need to be in the same room to write and record‘ - well without having to tour the band really is running out of excuses. Such a shame

At least we have the gnr leaks! Talking of which I haven’t listened to these for about 6 months

#358 Re: Guns N' Roses » WTF is happening to this place? » 328 weeks ago

If they cancel their tour then due to the virus then what could be a better opportunity than to write and record! At least give us something to keep us going during these pretty miserable times!

Slash is right though, it is different now. People use social media to promote music, not really a GN'R thing.

As you said, CD was affected by the record company, and the Best Buy deal was all about making the money back they put into the recording costs.

UYI had Terminator 2

How does GN'R release a new record and stand out, especially in a year when a lot of bands are releasing albums. The forum fans will just want the band to release an album, but it does have to capture the attention of casual fans.

By making an insanely good classic rock album. Whilst there is a whole load of trash out there these days I think people still no a good song when they see one.

I didn’t buy the GNR box set. I felt is was vastly overpriced. But I would dig deep for a new double album with all the trimmings if it was as good as UYI.

How to promote it? Get out there and be passionate and talk about it would be a good start.
