I suspect the record company has a lot to do with this - the band make most of there money through tours but the rc will want to milk new music for all its worth...

Agreed. Slash seems to have it down to a tee with his solo albums so I have no idea why he’s struggling. I agree with Otto - how do they take the material and raise it to ‘classic gnr standard’ is probably the issue.

They seem to be doing a good job of keeping things quiet if an album is being planned.

I’m hoping things work out this year. I hope that the band can also maintain the quality we’ve come to expect from a GNR album.

I think we killed this guy by mistake.  Probably thought it was a caravan of more protesters, or we had bad intel, but it totally sounds like we're making up reasons we killed someone we weren't planning on killing.

The Hellfire missiles were intended for protestors? There is no way those missiles were intended for anyone other than the target in my opinion.

If the prices are anywhere near the level I paid for the last UK appearance the I want to hear about new music first.

I'm quite surprised at the lack of media coverage regarding the leaks. The 'Rick' story got some mileage, but I've seen no journalists writing about the leaks themselves. Given the hype surrounding CD you thought someone might have gone to town on it.

Perhaps no one gives a monkeys any more, or are they afraid of publicly admitting they have the leaks?

Nothing

A very small part of Elvis from 47-51 seconds really reminds me of a song - I think its Pearl Jam - and its doing my head in!

Me too and I'll up the ante....

If he brought terrible lyrics to songs like Oklahoma, Soul Monster, and Quick Song, I'd rather consider them complete as instrumentals as the band is on fire.

I always said Riad would work better as an instrumental and probably should've been released as one.

A further dive into the vault reinforces this.

It can't be easy for a singer, especially one so talented yet such a spotty work ethic, having to walk into a studio with finished tracks sitting there waiting for his final ingredient.

No offense to him but he may not have had it in him to complete some of them.

I think it was probably far more comfortable to twiddle the knobs every night with a cigar and a bottle of brandy rather than lay down vocal tracks. We all do it, rather than focus on what really matters we veer towards the ‘easy’ jobs. Axl needs to read ‘eat the frog’
