Whaaahh. Wow. That's a great piece of rock n roll. Jesus Christ, this is a good an vital album. Duff really isn't into reliving the past much anymore is he?

What about Sales? I've met some salesmen who could sell dick to a hooker. One guy in particular was very good at his job, but seriously seriously manipulative

Duff is playing bass in a little Seattle based group called walking papers and they're quite good.

I feel the same about Duff/Izzy singing in a band with Axl....

When you have an Axl/Steven Tyler character around....maybe you should stick to your instruments wink

The thing about Izzy's singing for me is that it sounds good. He might not have huge range but his singing voice sounds like a singing voice you know? It sounds melodic and tuneful.
Perry's sounds like a pack of cats that got hold of Stephen Hawkings voice device

You've gotta turn your karma back on if you're gonna post zingers like that 16

hehe I also accept Karma in the form of small cash donations

Well the first half of the things a streamin on the hinterVeb http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwnXHxjp-Qw

If you like disc 1, it's probably worth investing in the entire thing.

HA!

28:33 into that Video. The sound Jimmy supposedly made is a definite overdub.
Just sayin'  It's not actually possible to play a single stable closed chord and do a detuned slide at the same time. You can hear the overdub perfectly in fact. Now it could have been a live overdub on the night so maybe no studio time went into this BUT, if you're already booking a studio for post-production you might as well spruce up the tracks with some overdubs. We all know how "re-master" happy JP is and how many god damned times he's redone the old classics, it's not a huge jump in my mind for him to over-dub Celebration Day.

Zep were a band who like Pink Floyd and the Beatles used the studio as an instrument in it's own right, don't see that as a bad thing personally, the music is what matters, but there's definitely some work done here in my (professional) opinion one way or the other.

It's just impossible to tell if the work was done in the postproduction suite or live on the night using pre-recorded overdubs.

None of this tarnishes the result in my mind. It's excellent music and these are excellent versions of some monolithic songs.

Get a load of Duff's new non-loaded band. They're excellent:

This is the best thing GNR has done post '91.
Bringing Izzy out for a few shows is an excellent treat for the fans of the old band too.

Although - i still think Myles should have just been made singer - then they could cover all GNR, VR and Slash songs...would have been amazing.

I don't think Duff or Matt would ever accept Myles as a singer. If you look at the type of guys they tend to work with they're all lower register punkier grungeque type of voices. Ian Astbury,  the singer from Walking Papers. I get the feeling those two are more into the indie tyope voice than they are the classic wailers
