I do like the song...but perhaps it could have been mixed better...it's hard to follow at times...but I like it.
Also, I do believe that the reactions to the song was one of the many reasons we didn't see chinese democracy sooner. I believe there was at least a foundation for an album with that theme in the late 90s, and when the reaction was so poor, he may have started over. This is speculation of course.
I also think he was typecast...people were not expecting that sound from him at all...and when it came, it had no chance to be successful.

alright...i'll bite...
I used to like U2...but then I saw them live...and saw what a fucking tool Bono can be...
His 'stage performance' was more like...'walk around...look at me...and my almost too big for the stadium stage'
I don't know how anyone could ever say Axl's ego is that big...when you see a stage with 7 bridges, 4,000 tvs, 46 archers and a river...
Meanwhile...I never really did see any of ther other members of the band...they sorta just stood in one spot like statues...

Three things I can asure you that I expect/care about.
First, Axl will have little to no contact with anyone from the media.
Second, I couldn't care less about what shows Jarmo is going to...he is a symbol of exactly what has been wrong with this band and their conduct since day one of the nu adventure.
Third, I hope/want/would love some live/recorded coverage of some of these massive asian shows. Can anyone fill me in on that?

I remember this for the wrong reasons...Sigh......the day Chinese came out here in Oz, my girlfriend, knowing how i'd waiting for the album for years, was determined that the best way to experience the album was for me to fuck her while listening to it...so she drove around especially...I had thought about telling her that actually i'd listened to the album in the car on the way back from the store before I called her, and that I had the leaks anyway so most of it wasn't new....but a second listen while fucking didn't seem like such a bad idea
So here we are a year on....Chinese Democracy is still one of my favourite albums, I still love listening to it, and that bitch left me a week before christmas.....memories...
Wow...that's quite a story...strange that she would go to all the trouble only to leave you a few weeks later...
I hope things have gotten better since...

And the '08 Antiquiet leaks from Cogil - well surely we'd never see this kind of leak again following the FBI stuff.
The only possible way I could ever see a new leak is something finally surfacing from the 'checkmate' affair - but from what I've read the gnr camp quickly shut that one down.
So until Uncle Axl decides to put more new music out there, we wait....

Yes...although I would like to hear more Chin Dem songs, I think Axl or someone important fears there are even less people interested in the new songs than there are people who want to see the AFD tour.
I really believe there are lots of 'fringe' fans who say fuck it...let's relive the old days. Many of these people may not even know Chin Dem exists. It would be easy to understand...the album got released so quietly, and with no singles really taking to the radio.
Although the circumstances were a bit different back in 2006 when I went to see them in Chicago, the older crowd (40 and up) seemed to have no clue about songs like Better...and whatever other songs they played from the new album.

Wasn't sure where to share this so I thought I'd just put in here about ticket sales:
Yesterday my Mom and I took my son on a trip to see my brother. I should also mention that my mother is extremely religious. I posted recently about how she stopped me from buying UYI because of the bad language on them, etc. It was a long drive so many subjects came up.
One of which was my plan to go see Guns N' Roses in January. I shit you not, I just got a voicemail this morning warning me to reconsider. She told me that Axl Rose stands for everything that God is against.
Just wanted to share, lol
Lol...Axl IS anti-christ...I'm actually more inclined to believe that than most of the BS in this thread.
Or maybe Axl is nu-God...or God is a soon to be member of nu-Gn'R
