Just heard the news on the radio. Very sad.

Not a massive Scott fan but I saw him with VR in 05 and he was a mesmerising frontman.

RIP Scott

Sweet. I was at the Leeds show in 2001. Was an epic night. Not my ideal venue but a few guys I know would be up for a trip back for old times sake. We'll see on Friday then I guess.. If not before!

The venue itself for Leeds has changed since then. It's at Bramham Park now instead of Temple Newsham.

If GnR are announced on Friday we'll no doubt get more info soon. As it stands we're two guitarists down, possibly a bassist as well. Even if there's no reunion there's currently half the band missing. That said I think if a Slashless/Duffless lineup is announced it would go down like a cup of cold sick at this point.

He's also talked about how much he dislikes touring and the stresses that puts on him.

Doesn't leave us with a lot does it?

Thank god for that new slot machine...

Yes Fortus mentioned Axl toying around with an old Slash riff or something.

Which proves that there must have been communication between Axl and Slash – there's no way that Axl would be able to use material written by Slash without some sort of permission. Using a Slash riff without permission would be an invitation to a lawsuit, and a PR nightmare.

Depends, perhaps like with the new guys any riffs etc produced on GnR studio time become property of GnR(Axl) for Axl to tinker with as he pleases. If it was the same case in the mid 90's maybe Slash riffs from that time do belong to Axl?

James - I think you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned Azoff. Not sure what his influence was in 01, but if he was manager then it makes you wonder if we'd have seen CD sooner?

A reunited GNR headlining Glastonbury would be massive. Not sure if it'd be on the cards but I've always thought it'd be a good fit should a reunion ever take place.

#617 Re: Guns N' Roses » NOTHING TO SEE HERE!!! » 547 weeks ago

^ agreed. If there's nothing happening reunion-wise then why not shut it down. I can't see Slash saying 'no there's nothing happening, but pretend there is just to fuck with everyone.'

I've thought for a while other plans could be dropped like a stone if the reunion is on. That includes Myles or CD II and sure enough what was meant to be a busy year for Slash solo wise suddenly has a gaping great chasm in the middle of it.

Apex, you are right. Plus we have the recent denial from Slash, Axl, and Duff... Since they all denied it publicly there is nothing to discuss here. Good thing they denied it or these rumors would just keep getting bigger and bigger!

Where's the denials? Genuine question btw I just haven't seen anything?

I thought Slash was now 'no comment'ing on reunion questions? Duff is tweeting pics with old school GNR pics in the background. Has Axl made any kind of comment about anything in the last couple of months?

Or were you joking and I've totally missed it 16

Went to see this today. A bit like the reviews I have mixed feelings about Spectre. On the one hand the set pieces and action was excellent, real edge of the seat sequences. On the other I felt it was a fairly lazy story and if I'm honest I think Craig phoned this one in a bit.

There were some obvious deliberate references to older films but at times the film was VERY Roger Moore era and not necessarily in a good way.

Not sure they needed to link up all the Craig era films as one connected plot either. CR and QoS were a linked plot anyway, Spectre could have continued that without needing to crowbar in Skyfall as well.

Hidden Text:

The timeline continuation from Skyfall was fine, I just don't see why Silva suddenly had to be a member of Spectre for no apparent reason. Neither do I see why Blofeld and Bond had to have some past connection, it felt there for the sake of it, I thought the old man (Monthomery) from Skyfall had raised him anyway, not Blofelds Dad?

That being said I enjoyed it in the cinema and I'm probably being over critical due to the gems the Craig era has mostly served up so far. I'd say this falls below CR and Skyfall but is better than QoS.

An ISIS cell that's just returned from Syria apparently. I think some of them were born in France, not that it matters really but one was also female.

There's just no end in sight to this. You cut the head off one serpant and it grows three more.
