Re: Atlas & Nothing the last of reworked songs - CD era comes to a close

If they do release the 6 songs as a 'package', surely Monsters gets an official release and hopefully studio versions of the Seeker and Wichita. How difficult would it be for them to record those 2 covers? A weekends work tops. Would be nice to have studio versions of those 2. That could almost pass as an album. Call it "Not in this lifetime" have it mastered evenly (some songs remixed hopefully) and there's the GN'R reunion album. Children of the Revolution makes it 10 songs.

While it would technically be a weekends work, we saw how sensitive Axl is about releasing recorded stuff these days with the Schenker  album. He did multiple takes and still would only allow 1 out of 3 songs he featured on to be released, and to be frank I understand. There were so many layers placed over his voice, and you can still hear how weak it was underneath.

Duff confirmed in radio interview “there’s one more song from that batch” this week.  Has to be Monsters.

The final chapter writes itself at this point.

Basically what Jimmy said....leaks wrapped up in cellophane with Monsters added. Disagree on the covers. Nothing new will be added.

I doubt the songs even get a much needed remix.

The "package" will come out at some point during the tour ... probably near the holidays....and that will be the final album.

Kinda funny Duff had to chime in about Monsters. It means Slash either forgot about it and/or had no idea it leaked.  It shows how invested they are in this material.

Dollars to donuts.... Live Nation wants a product out for this tour due to low ticket sales and this is what they'll release.

Either way....the finish line is in sight.

I bet Oklahoma and Seven (and others) were never properly finished. Probably in a state similar to the Nothing demo or The General.

We're not getting anything new. These guys are not the Stones and no Hackney Diamonds are on the horizon.

I wouldn't put the blame on all of them. Whatever you think of SMKC, Slash is still a very prolific songwriter, and Duff already wrote a new song for GNR a few years back. It's one guy that's incapable of doing anything, for whatever reason.

Yeah, he’s been the main problem for the last 30 years.  He just doesn’t want to release new music or really work on it at this point.

Everyone else except for him manages to record and release music pretty easily.

For him, it seems to be some sort of epic eternal struggle.
