Re: Atlas & Nothing the last of reworked songs - CD era comes to a close
Only a quick interview but a fair bit of info compared to others about the reworked songs so thought i'd give it its own thread.
Also mentions he 'thinks' the plan is to take all the reworked songs and release them 'as a package'. & says next music will be all original
As far as a new album goes I'll believe it when I hear it (which I don't expect to)
Re: Atlas & Nothing the last of reworked songs - CD era comes to a close
So that's confirmation there are no more songs with vocals, or at least that they want to release.
Funny how the "new album" thing is something they have been planning for years but not a single step taken towards making that album. Does Axl plan to do it at 80 years old?

I think it pretty much confirms that we are never getting any more of the reworked CD era stuff released yeah. If they repackage the released stuff as an EP or whatever maybe Monsters gets thrown on there maybe not.
The idea there will be a new album of new material is completely laughable and I doubt even Slash believes that (though can't say it obviously).
Re: Atlas & Nothing the last of reworked songs - CD era comes to a close
Well Slash is obviously holding back about the number of songs here. They did Monsters and possibly others. For whatever reason they have decided to stop at Nothing and Atlas. Or that's what he heard and he doesn't really know what will happen.
They've milked this "album" thing now for what, 4 years? And then when we finally get this album of songs they have already released they will milk that too. These guys will be dead before we see new material.

Condensed article of Slash’s comments. If we got 8 songs out of CD leftovers in 10 years, we aren’t getting dick for new material.

Another interview with him https://ultimateclassicrock.com/guns-n- … -finished/
He talks a little more about the process of working on the songs. Also does the well worn high wire act of trying to explain the process of starting a new album without trying to say the wrong thing and piss off the boss.
No mention that the music videos for these songs are supposed to appear next month.

I laughed out loud at the comments about the setlists. Does he think we are completely stupid? The setlists are nearly identical for their entire run aside from swapping a few songs here and there. Does he really think we’re that gullible to believe they just decide them as they go?

Seems that was a mistranslation of the original announcement, according to what I read on Mygnr. No music videos coming.

lol that's that then. I suspect Nothing is the last song they will ever release. Slash and Duff comments in interviews over the next 2 years will probably sound like the stuff they said in 94/96 and it will slowly fizzle out.
Unrelated but Slash, Duff, Chad Smith, Post Malone & Andrew Watt are supposed to be performing an Ozzy tribute at The Grammys on Sunday. Don't expect Axl perhaps he is in hiding again or something
