Geffen is shutting its doors? holy crap.....but is there any evidence to substansiate it?

Yeah, go look at the latest Billboard charts. Albums that should be selling millions are only selling a few thousand.

The collapse is underway. Its surprising one of the big dogs didn't die long ago.

yeah i know that, but thats not hard evidence to say the whole company is calling it quits

Now its believable that CD is in the record company's hands. Uni doesn't know what to do with it because the original label is dead. Uni owns a bunch of labels under its umbrella and has to decide which one to release it under.

It might even require voiding the old contract and writing a new one.

Well, the original contract was done when Geffen still existed. If Geffen is anywhere in that contract, it definitely changes things.

Hopefully any and all label issues have already been worked out, but with CD it seems like if something can go wrong, it does.

true, but Universal took over the contract when they bought Geffen years ago.....that is why they can release it under Interscope if they want-like Russ says they are. Who knows how it affects things. Russ, you need to email your boy and see if he has any scoop....not about Gnr in particular, but about Geffen and what the artists under them will be doing.
