I'm sick of remakes but if they can truly get Freddy back to his roots and get him a light year away from the Rodney Dangerfield impersonations, I'm all for it. The first Elm Street was fucking great and there was always a darker story to tell than even what the original brought to the table.

The new remakes have smacked of either mediocrity or flat out suck. I'm so burned at this point, that I don't even have faith in this.
