Re: the Chinese Democracy you've never seen
The more appropriate title: the unreleased Chinese Democracy booklet.
But we have seen it.
The Chinese rollercoaster artwork was never officially used. That is a fan mockup.
The previous art before the Chinese rollercoaster was not officially used by the project. A very similar variant by artist Shi Lifeng, was.

man, all that beautiful artwork and we get a big fuckin' sepia toned basket.
i remember this fake from back in the day:
i always pictured the final album would look something like that.
the colors of red and orange were always in my mind with the cover.
btw -- that street of dreams single artwork is amateur hour. still can't believe that's real.
Re: the Chinese Democracy you've never seen
i have 2 red hand cds, one is signed by axl, richard, and tommy; the other is unsigned.
when i met tommy and had him sign the booklet for me, he was taken aback by it. he flipped through the booklet and looked at every piece of art and had a huge smile on his face the whole time. i told him how much i wish this had been released officially and he said i was not the only one.

I agree. It was like a fake that you would see at a flea market.....but then I realized that might have been the point.

Great story, very cool...and kind of sad.

A bootleg CD used that as cover art. If I remember correctly, it surfaced in early 2008, not long before the official album release.
I'm pretty sure the "Street of Dreams" promo single is legit. When it shows up for sale, it goes for a fortune.
