Re: NWA
I was reading that back in the day GNR partied a couple of times with N.W.A. and there's a rumour they collaborated on a track called 'yellow brick road of Compton'. I wander if there's any truth in that?
Yeah, we looked into it years ago, and I can't remember the detail. There was something recorded but it was regarded as insignificant and playful, rather than serious. Someone had the recordings, not GNR or Axl, someone else. The recordings were ultimately lost
I think, Axl might have mentioned it somewhere in time, but I'm not 100 per cent on that
Re: NWA
Slash/Duff were supposed to be on the Temporary Insanity album by Easy E which never got released.
Allegedly the stuff sounded like Body Count and there was barely any Easy E on it. Though someone from one of the Easy E forums claimed that it was that Slash blocked it.
Whether true or not who knows? Also whether or not the Temporary Insanity stuff would have been that related to Yellow Brick Road. I think it was a phrase used multiple times by him in diff tracks.

Re: NWA
Thanks all! Kind of reminds me of the rumoured Axl collaboration with another rapper (Shaq?). Clearly there's a gnr / hip hop album in a parallel universe somewhere waiting to come out!
I think Axl said (possibly in the forum chats) that Shaq happened to be in the next studio, Didn't sound like there was any actual plan to do and release something, think they were just messing around in the studio for a few hours, at least that's the vibe I got from reading all that stuff years ago.
There was a rumour in the early to mid 2000's that Nas was going to do something with them. Seems mostly forgotten by people now, and was probably just clickbait nonsense. i remember it being 'reported' on one of those sites that post spurious information. I remember when BITW leaked thinking that it was clearly meant to have a rapper on the verses, I would expect that it was meant to at some point.
