Amazing weekend...

Rams vs Panthers

That win was a little too close for comfort for one of the legit SB contenders. Panthers have nothing to be ashamed of...shouldn't have even been there and they almost pulled off the upset.

Bears vs Packers

My God....that first half collapse of the Bears was unreal. It's also not the first time...Caleb seems to love choking for a few quarters and then cosplaying as Elway in the 4th.

You can't do shit like this as a playoff team and expect any level of success. Your luck can and will run out.

They got really lucky how the Packers became the choke artists of the year in the second half. It was so bad that Lefleur may lose his job over it.

It's not just Caleb....coach Johnson's play calling was way too risky in the first half. You can see where Dan Campbell gets it from.

Johnson was cold as ice during the handshake after the game and in the locker room. He's definitely got the personality to be the Bears head coach.

Bills vs Jaguars

What a disappointment for the Jags. This team just screams one year wonder.

Eagles vs 49ers

Eagles had no business being in the playoffs. Just a terrible performance all around. I would not be surprised if the Eagles make some major changes this off season. If the Ravens can ditch Dilfer in 2001 right after a SB, Eagles can ditch Hurts under these circumstances.

Patriots vs Chargers

Staggering levels of cluelessness and incompetence in the Chargers organization top to bottom. This game removed the mask entirely.

Herbert...who gets comparisons to Josh Allen while Harbaugh claims he'll be a HOF caliber QB...was exposed as a QB who can't even read defenses. Some Chargers players even told the Pats their offense didn't have a clue what was going on.

IMO the entire coaching staff should be fired but of course they'll just make Roman take all the blame as he exits stage left.

If I'm the Chargers....I trade Herbert while he still has value.

Patriots were impressive. You gotta win the ugly games like that. Vrabel really is coach of the year. Earlier this season I was getting 98 Falcons vibes from the Broncos...I think the Pats are the team in that role now. They just keep winning and get zero respect while doing it...and they're doing it quietly. The constant harping on the weak schedule by everyone is certainly a valid observation but just like the 98 Falcons, it's still impressive. Their opponents....sleep on them at your own risk.

Steelers vs Texans

This game was insane....Texans most dangerous team in the playoffs. Their offense... specifically Stroud... completely shit the bed in the first half and the Steelers could do absolutely nothing against that defense.

This might be the best defense since that mid 2000s Bears team. On the other hand, not sure comparisons to iconic offenses/defenses are valid anymore. The game has changed too much. Either way.... they're awesome.

Kind of an all-time wild card weekend. Great games.

Absolutely. I was genuinely excited for the games this weekend.

Best set of matchups in 20 years. This coming weekend just as good.

Tomlin has stepped down and Lefleur may be out as well. Insane coaching carousel this offseason

Yeah...he quit before they could fire him. tongue

Yeah gonna be an incredible off season...from coaches, the draft, and God only knows how any trades/free agency plays out.

I'm gonna try the UFL this season. They've been advertising it quite a bit.

I might also watch some CFL. Before rewatching a hefty chunk of the 98 NFL season, I was watching some of those CFL Flutie games.

Every matchup is killer...

Seahawks vs 49ers

I'm calling it now....this is the first huge upset in the playoffs. Darnold will collapse like he did last year against the Rams. Actually...I was hoping the Rams would have to go to Seattle instead of Chicago.

On the other hand, losing Kittle for the year is a huge blow to the 49ers. They were also dog shit against Seattle a couple weeks ago. McCaffrey will have to carry the load.

I just have a feeling. I also think it'll be low scoring... similar to the previous game.

Broncos vs Bills

Predicting another upset here... although not sure it would technically be an upset since this is probably the most inexperienced #1 seed ever.

Bills have to be hungrier for it than ever before...their usual adversaries not in the playoffs. Combine this with a completely untested Nix and the Bills sneak out of Denver with a win.

Bears vs Rams

I hate to say it and I hope I'm wrong....

Rams

Rams mean business and the Bears will have to essentially play mistake free the entire game. If we witness anything similar to the first half of the Packers game, it will be over quickly.

Hopefully the weather becomes a major factor. Instead of rain, I wish the football gods would give us another fog bowl.

Patriots vs Texans

This is my #1 most anticipated game. Yes...even more than the Bears game.

IMO....whoever wins this game is going to the Superbowl.

It's the biggest test of the season for both teams. Can the Patriots score on that dominant defense? Can Stroud get into a rhythm and live up to his potential? While not a perfect comparison, this year's Texans team is similar to the 2000 Ravens. The offense doesn't need to play shootouts to win. Just put up 20 points and you'll probably win...maybe 10 points if the defense gets red hot.

Win or lose...both teams had great seasons. Texans season was pretty much over right from jump street...a collapse similar to the Ravens and Redskins until their defense saved the season. That trajectory also similar to the 00 Ravens...crap until they went on that run.

I'm going with the upset....Texans in a low scoring game.

I also realize this batch of predictions probably off the mark....very low chance of 3 upsets.

We'll see....

Edit

Herbert...who gets comparisons to Josh Allen while Harbaugh claims he'll be a HOF caliber QB...was exposed as a QB who can't even read defenses.

This reminds me of Brady's criticisms of modern day QBs, their approach to the game, and how they are coached from high school, college, to the pros....and why he considers Mahomes light years above all the others.
