And I will say, getting this album reminds me of how shitty it is to try to take the stupid tape off of a CD case. Good God, that shit is a pain in the ass. DVD/Blu-ray tape is a lot easier to pull off than CD's. I haven't bought a CD in a while so it was interesting to say the least.
I had the same problem!!!! I think I tore that tape into 17 different pieces before I finally got it all off.

Just went to best buy and picked it up!!!! I was blasting CD (the song) through my car with the windows down when I was rolling into the parking lot. People were looking at me kinda awkward. I don't know if it was because I was playing the song loud or that I had my windows down in 20 degree weather.

edit: I just saw the bulletin that GNR did and one of the widgets has a video of concert footage from the 06 tour. It has the "lush productions" watermark of the documentary trailer that came out last year had. It's just a short clip but it has alot of cool scenes in it. The commercials that they posted are soooo much better than the older ones. The longer of the two says featuring 'Chinese Democracy' and 'Better'. I say that pretty much confirms Better being the next single.
Maybe Robin really is that awesome of an industrial rhythm guy and that bad of a bluesy solo guy, but I don't think so. He plays Better, Street of Dreams, and all his other solos almost perfectly live. I tend to think he intentionally fucks with Slash's solos as a passive aggressive FU to being forced into the role of 'Slash's Replacement' for the 01-02 and 06-07 AFD tours.
He is phenomenal with NIN, even if you don't like NIN you can recognize how much control and power he holds over those songs and that audience. And his mark on Chinese Democracy is strong - he just wasn't into doing note-for-note copies of someone else's work (don't say that's what he does in NIN because NIN live is different from studio, and the players have some freedom). His 'God Given' solo is pretty sweet.
agreed. I too believe that he plays the old material sloppy on purpose. He is usually spot on when they play new songs.

i think that was part of what maybe killed CD on radio.. the long ass intro.. or it's just their excuse... either way...
better will be the song to "convert the masses"
funny... right after robin is confirmed to be gone.. they release his song as a single...
I just heard CD on the WRIF and it didn't have the long intro. They also played a commercial for the launch party during the break and the two songs that were played underneath the promo were CD and Better.

I would go but I probably gotta work and if not, I stlll got band practice and homework. Plus my girlfriend, friends, family, and pretty much everyone else I know would have a field day making fun of me so I think I might pass.
