My brother had that album Exile In Guyville pretty early on. Listened to it alot & ended up buying it in the later 90s. Took a while to get it, very primitive, raw, indie lo-fi recording. Yet there's talent there, and the lyrics were open & putting herself out there.
I agree the timing was right for it, 93-94 was definitely the peak of the 'alternative' years, getting into post-grunge, had previous female alt-rock submissions by L7 & 4 Non Blondes, Juliana Hatfield etc. Sky seemed to be the limit, I think it was just a little bit to lo-fi, almost a 4 track sound. I thought she'd blow up in 96 or so with her followup Whitechocolateeasteregg or whatever, but I heard the first song & remember thinking it wasn't gonna be a fit. Too much the opposite, overproduced, almost aiming toward Cheryl Crowe.
She did a great version of God Bless America years ago at the World Series. Great voice.

Interesting vid & yeah cool take on it being sorta 'the last time' we got to see the OG Axl.
Yeah, I'd love to see even a 20/20 or 60 Minutes interview of him. Just what happened. TBH, in addition to what Wags said about money & success early, infighting & the band leaving etc, I think the element of crazy or perfectionist factors in. Kinda like Michael Jackson, had somewhat 'all the money in the world'. Live in a mansion, buy expensive cars etc. Collect Royalties. I'd be curious how much they made those years 95-00. IMHO in the US Guns kinda wasn't hot thru 94, and fell in between in old style traditional radio by not yet being Classic Rock, and not New/Alternative. I'm not sure sporting stadiums were playing WTTJ or PC yet either due to their topical matter (drug use etc). Both seemed to come back around in the early 2000s imho.
I think I posted this before but here's a link to a college alumni magazine of mine where a graduate worked in Atlantic City hotels. Of note to the right in one of the final paragraphs mentions Axls need to fully drape his hotel room. Also earlier it mentions his 2am room service order. Just kinda shows the guys a bit nuts, although, in Rock N Roll maybe those two aren't quite so extreme (the wording of the draping requirement seems to indicate it was a bit testing her patience, so I'd read between the lines with that. I didn't know her btw, she's much younger)

Crenshaw, Kinzinger & Sasse should be looked at as the future of the party. Nikki Haley will definitely run as well, I'm not sold on her I think she got the bare minimum qualifications (UN appointment for 'International Experience' to suit her Presidential ambitions) then packed it up & packed it in, so will now wait until 2024.
Sounds like a complainer.

Colts got Wentz. So far it seems a 2021 3rd rd pick and 2022 2nd rd pick. If Wentz plays 75% of snaps OR 70% & Colts make playoffs the 2022 pick is bumped up to their 1st rounder.
Summing it up, likely the Colts 2022 late 1st round pick & 2021 3rd rd pick.
Possibly Colts 2022 2nd rd pick & 2021 3 rd rounder.

A good read about how secret deals were made to keep Trump out
The horror. A coordinated effort to keep the losing candidate from not assuming the Presidency. Totally unprecedented. You gotta spread that word SG, people haven't heard of such illegal crimes yet.

Yeah, wow! Before clicking the link I wasn't sure exactly the point but he was quite hidden then and it was a different era (lack of photos). Most seem familiar but we've been on the boards & stuff for 15-20 years at this point. Heckuva compilation.
Are you like students doing a project or something?

Pretty sure she had a band called The Licks, right?
Her in a band now sounds familiar, didn't know she stuck with it, thought it was a 90s thing. She isn't terrible.

Juliette Lewis sings?? Looks like Dave Navarro on guitar, not sure if/who else anyone else is. She seems pretty good tho

Goff is not good though.
He's not terrible. I mean, is 31/32 year old Stafford even worth 2 1st rd picks at this point in his career? Let alone two 1st rounders AND Goff?!
Detroit could do some major damage in the draft if they have their own picks too (not sure if they do). 2 first rounders this year, OL, WR & D in the 2nd rd, next year DL, LB and OL in 2nd round. Or something like that.

1. Calling it Guns N' Roses - he should have called it what it was - a solo album or give the band another name. Chinese Democracy as a band name could've worked. No one wanted a Slash-less GN'R. Fact.
This probably doesn't get mentioned enough anymore, but yeah its a pretty solid point. Especially once BH left, things fell apart. Even the 02 tour collapse, should've ditched GnR at that point, bc 'supergroups' were becoming a thing (VR, Audioslave etc). Calling it Chinese Democracy or something probably would've been the thing to do. Really would've been best from the 90s OMG years.
