Breat hart on HHH:
"Bret Hart spoke with Wrestle Talk TV Extra. Here are some of the things he had to say about Triple H.
"I have a certain amount of respect for Triple H. I remember when he first came in, I remember commenting on stuff that he did. Because I'd usually give wrestlers my thoughts and try to help them on stuff... Triple H has always been a good wrestler. But great? What is he now, a 1,000 time world champion? How great really is he?
"I look at [CM] Punk... I can look at certain wrestlers and I go, this guy is an innovator. Like a Rey Mysterio, who's done stuff that no one has ever thought of before. Punk has done stuff -- really unique moves and you go, 'gee I've never seen anything like that before.' They innovate all the time, and they create new sequences and moves and things.
"Then you look at someone like Triple H. When I look at him -- he's always had a good look as far as his body went -- he always had a pretty muscular physique. But you look at someone like Hunter and you wonder, what has he really done. One move that he ever created that nobody ever saw before or some highspots or an idea for a match... He's mostly a guy that just showed up and they made him. He's always been a decent wrestler -- I would consider him a good wrestler and pretty talented. But great? I don't know, I don't think so.
"What has he ever done that's great? He's never had a great match, I don't think ever. Whenever I look at Triple H's matches, including the last one he had with Undertaker -- and I don't really mean it as a knock -- but I told myself before I watched it because I'm trying to like Paul now these days, that I want to see him do something to make me think he's got greatness in him.
"Before Triple H wrestled Undertaker last year, I remember watching it and going, 'I can picture the whole match in my head, I can tell you exactly what this match is going to be like and how it's going to go. And I remember watching it and it went exactly how I predicted it... I thought it was mediocre at best, maybe a 4 out of 10, or 3 out of 10.
"I think Paul is a little overrated... overrated for being great. I can sit here and tell you that there was one match that he ever had with anybody that I thought was great. It's kind of a shame, he should have a great match somewhere with somebody. And you'd think that he would have had it by now, but I don't think he's a great wrestler.""
uh oh... And he just squashed his beef with HBK. Here we go again... But I love his honesty:
I'm trying to like Paul now these days,
Ouch. Hart tells the truth here. As long as Hart is still in the good graces of Vinnie Mac he has nothing to worry about. Now when Vince dies and HHH takes over that could cause him problems, but that's far down the line.

The second episode last Monday was EVEN BETTER and scarier even.
This show might become my favorite new show... fast. I'm shocked something this good is even on network TV, let alone Fox network. Sure enough... they'll cancel it.
I enjoyed the flashbacks as they fleshed out some of the characters. That Emma chick is messed up and a psycho. I like the tension between Emma, her boyfriend and the other guy who may or may not be gay. Liked the new FBI profiler Parker more than the woman who was on the pilot.
Nitpicks or minor issues (and some spoilers): Policework for the second straight week. How do you only send one (a rookie too) policeman to guard Carroll's ex wife? It boggles the mind why they didn't have her more heavily guarded.
Speaking of Carroll's ex-wife, I hope her story and the Bacon character go somewhere because that's the one part of the plot where it bores me a little.
I heard the pilot for The Americans on FX was very good too.
I watching this tonight as I downloaded it. I have high hopes for it.

Just re watched axl on jimmy Kimmel and damn he has fallen off big time just since then. He looked pretty good on Kimmel
I haven't seen any recent pics/videos of him so watching those two clips were a shock to me. His face looked really fat for whatever reason.

Sorry, not buying the 49ers. They beat two of the worst run defenses in the league. When they face a team that shuts down the run, they lose.
I'm saying it here first: Ravens win the superbowl in a blow out.
I think the Ravens win too but I'm not convinced it'll be a blowout. Despite the semifinal win, I think I still have questions about the Falcons (and Matt Ryan) and whether or not they are still playoff chokers. Blew a 20 point lead in a win vs SEA and now dumping away a 17 point lead vs the 49ers. I'm getting an early 90s Houston Oilers vibe from the Falcons.
49ers got torched vs the pass, while BAL WR/TE aren't that good they still present problems. I thought BAL should have given Bernard Pierce more carries against the Pats.
The Pats might want to avoid Bernard Pollard next year. He's taken out Brady, Welker, Hernandez and Ridley in the last five years. He must have a Patriots vodoo doll somewhere in his closet.

currently d/ling this. wondering if any of you have seen it?
reads a little like Fox does Dexter but since it's only the pilot thought i'd give it a go..
I watched it tonight and enjoyed it. James Purefoy (aka Mark Anthony from HBO's Rome series) was great. It was somewhat more violent than the usual broadcast tv series.
It is nothing like Dexter. Felt the characters (outside from the main two) were pretty bland and boring. I'll probably keep watching because Purefoy is pretty good in his role.
They're also adding new characters as I noticed Annie Parisse in a promo for a future episodes. I was a big Law and Order fan so I recognized her pretty quickly.
#1016 Re: Guns N' Roses » Skwerl's post on MyGNR regarding his leak and his source » 695 weeks ago
I agree with the history repeating itself. Despite the songs and potential leaks, I got really amused by the tales of negotiations and the leaks being on Youtube.
Oh absolutely, here is my favorite part of your post:
Uni is willing to release a new album with some conditions: money from the touring in advance of the album release so they'd repay Axl with album sales and licensing. Full product delivered in one package, album and cover art to avoid CD clusterfuck.
"Honestly, the ball is in Axl court... his managers were pushing really hard to release the album and then bring back Slash".
The last he heard from GNR was that they wanted to release an album of half CD era stuff and half new stuff from the guys in the band and Axl was willing to add one more album to GN'R contract with Uni. Axl wanted funding to additional recordings. Uni told him to forget about it "not nicely".
I can't believe he actually had the balls to ask Uni to fund for more recordings by Axl and his band of players. The full product delivered in one package pretty much confirms what most here suspected: GNR fucked up on the liner notes and blamed it on someone else.
These managers I assume were either Azoff or McGee. Anyway good stuff as there is nothing going on with the band at this time.
#1017 Re: The Garden » Notre Dame LB girlfriend death a hoax... » 695 weeks ago
Here's the original story with a lot of stuff that really can't be repudiated by Notre Dame or Te'o. Really, this boggles the mind how ND is actually expecting most rational people to believe their spin.

Keep it mind this is the same University that covered up a rape of a coed by a football player (eventually the rape victim committed suicide).
Interested to see how far he falls on draft day. Thank god my team won't be taking him in Round 1.

Basically from Monday, it's start of build to Wrestemania properly. The Rock is returning for few months and Lesnar/Taker probably won't be too far behind.
Dirt sheet's alleged planned card:
John Cena vs. The Rock (So that John Cena can finally get torched passed to him, by beating Rock. Despite not needing it)
Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar (So that Triple H can get in his win back, despite no one wanting to see it.)
Undertaker vs. CM Punk (Since there's no one else left)
Ryback vs. Big Show (Does it matter?)Really don't want to see any of that. I'd rather a swerve and something bit more interesting, for example like:
John Cena vs. The Undertaker
CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar...and it might not be original, but it's not quite same
The Rock vs. Triple H
John Cena vs Rock rematch---zzzzzz
Triple H vs Lesnar--more zzzzzz
Undertaker vs CM Punk--ok I actually find this one interesting and more intriguing than the Undertaker vs HHH battles.
Ryback vs Big Show-zzzzzzz, I think Ryback is a shitty wrestler.
And as you said, the lack of creativity here is damming. Nothing but rematches for the most part.
You seem like you watch the WWE on a regular basis, so I ask is the programming even interesting enough for me to tune in again? I stopped watching in September when the NFL came back on.

buzzsaw wrote:Further proof I just don't do movies...I'm not interested in seeing any of them.
Yep. Worst movie list I've ever read. Didn't think 2013 could be worse than 2012 but I was wrong.
Surprised you didn't rip on the Oldboy remake. I'll definitely avoid that film at all costs. Only things on the list I found interesting were Prisoners and Monuments Men. The rest were mostly remakes or sequels or super hero shit which I'm getting really weary of at this point.
Of course this probably explains why the majority of the films I watch are either foreign or older films.

And it looks like Chip Kelly is going to The Browns.
nope denied both Eagles and Browns and returned to Oregon.
Bills hired Doug Marrone of Syracuse as their HC. He does have experience in the NFL as an OC in New Orleans under Payton. They'll probably be taking a qb within the first two rounds.
Speaking of which, Aaron Murray returned to Georgia today for his senior season. Forget this year for QB's, next year is gonna be loaded with Bridgewater, Manziel, Murray, and Clowney the monster South Carolina DE who will probably be the first overall pick. Hope the Titans clown for Clowney or tank for Teddy the 2013 season. I'd be all for that shit if it lands them a franchise changing player.
Anyone watch the playoffs this weekend? Three of the four games were really boring. Only SEA-WSH was remotely interesting. In the AFC, I see both home teams winning and setting up the inevitable NE-DEN clash and Peyton vs Brady again. The Texans almost choked away that game vs the Bengals. And Baltimore had trouble with the Colts.
For the NFC, this is where the action is, GB-SF and SEA-ATL figure to be closer games than their AFC counterparts. I think GB will pull out a close one but it wouldn't shock me at all if SF won. Niners better pray that they don't have to depend on their place kickers though. Same thing with SEA-ATL, I think SEA wins but at some point ATL has to win a playoff game.
I disagree with Lofton though as I think GB goes to the Super Bowl over Seattle. They seem to be getting healthy at the right time and Harris seems to have given them some production at RB. I think with GB having already played a running qb they are better served at defending Russel Wilson's running ability. Um and there's that revenge factor from that infamous MNF game.
I think it's GB-DEN rematch of Super Bowl 32.
