I've seen nothing that impresses or dissappoints me yet and anxiously await to see what he brings to GNR. If it sucks....Oh well. Until he writes and records and album with gnr and gnr relases that album he's just another touring musician any ways.

axl can pull out from this whether the band gives confirmation or not but, just like in any other case of a tour cancellation, there would be a penalty.
universal doesn't put a tour together without prior consent and i guarantee a contract for a tour was drafted at some point.
That was pretty much my point. I realize the band doesn't confirm anything these days until the last minute. And we did find out about the album release well ahead of the official announcement from the band. But I think this is a little different. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there was no way Axl could've stopped the album from coming out. He was powerless in that respect. He could've refused to do any promo or press for it though. Whoops. But in THIS situation, it's possible Axl could flat out refuse to perform and thus the tour doesn't happen.
Now, before anyone goes off the handle. I don't think that'll happen. And I don't think the reason they haven't made an announcement is because they can't reach Axl or Axl is unsure if he wants to perform or not.
Just business as usual, like you said. Hopefully this does all go down. Maybe when Axl said about the prospects of another album "same bat time, same bat channel", he was ironically speaking of Chinese Democracy. Now we'll get all the proper promo, press, videos, etc. I can feel it. Well,,, one can dream.
only because he has to turn over the music before the deal is made.
in the case of a tour they can make a contract and follow through with whatever the agreed promo or confirmation is but they can't force him to show up as we agreed
but you did say that this wasn't official until the band confirms it and that is untrue.
if this falls through it is officially axl/gnr pulling ot of an officially planned tour.

i agree but i also recognize the "baggage" that came along with axl keeping the gnr name, as well, like all of the people that protested him doing so and didn't buy the album for that same reason.
#1034 Re: Guns N' Roses » Does anyone else get the impression that Axl is trying to re-build ... » 867 weeks ago
If he was aiming for this bucket never would have been in the band in the first place.
Subconsciously: He's looking for "yes" men but i think he's consciously looking at what they bring to the table when they audition and he hires them.
I think he could could have gotten more "star power" when he first started rebuilding but knew he could build a great band without that though I would agree that (at that point in time) he may have still been harboring some resentment towards old band members and was valuing committment above talent.
Personally, I think Ashba can bring something to the table. If you don't like bumble, look at the circumstances under which he was brought in.....last minute and right before the tour. I don't think Axl was only aiming to bring in a mindless pawn but you have to consider whether or not he'd be in the band under different circumstances.

#1036 Re: Guns N' Roses » Could it be I'm sick and tired of GNR? » 867 weeks ago
In the last 10 years i've listened to UY1 twice and 3 songs from Lies once and that's it, other than cd. I listen to CD about once every weekend if i'm driving somewhere longer distance and I only listen to the same 5 songs, mixing in shackler and madagacar once in a while. cd has no flow and the older stuff is just that, old. some of it may be "timeless" but it's all played out to me. we need new and fresh material.
#1037 Re: Guns N' Roses » Chinese Democracy Chart Positions Thread » 867 weeks ago
in axl's case i don't think that would be a good idea
he got rid of an album full of leaks and sold close to 2 million of them before they hit the shelves
a re-release/double album, to co-inside with the tour, might be a good idea
#1038 Re: Guns N' Roses » Prob no Brain on tour » 867 weeks ago
tours help sell cd's
it would benefit album 2 to release it around this tour.
gnr has already profited from album 1, thanks to best buy.
if axl plans on releasing the material that many have confirmed exists it would make sense to release it sooner than later.
i don't know if axl has another 3 tours in him
to go with cd1, 2, and 3
discalimer: nothing that axl and gnr do ever makes sense so, if i'm wrong, it's not for a lack of logic.

These numbers make me wonder, again, what the hell is going on with cd and best buy. Why hasn't cd exclusive ended and why hasn't best buy sold their landfill to other retailers? and why did they buy so many copies in the first place? the only thing I can think of is if that a tour was a part of the deal with best buy and everyone assumed they'd tour after the release, helping them sell more copies of the cd. since they didn't tour the contract was not fullfilled and things came to a stand-still. if that's true, when gnr tours the exclusivity will end and best buy will be free to sell what's then left of their copies to whomever they please. until then, best buy would be bailing out axl if they sold the cd's.
