#102 Re: Guns N' Roses » Guns N’ Roses 2022 Australia & New Zealand Tour » 143 weeks ago

IDK, I can appreciate the desire to get the fuck out of there when you're done, but a GN'R show is something you see at most 2x in a decade for even most of the diehards (yea, my personal figures far exceed that too).  A 3 hour show for something most people only see once in their lives doesn't seem excessive.

I seem to be the opposite of you guys.  I'm not really interested in hearing the hits for the 1Xth time.  I want the deep cuts - I want to hear Locomotive, I want to hear Catcher In The Rye, I'd like to hear Sympathy.  There's no arguing 90%+ of those in attendance want to hear PC before they leave, but none of us fall into the category of fandom that 90% of the audience is comprised of.

That's what was so special about the Hammerstein shows.  Everyone there wanted CD tracks and was a diehard fan.  It was truly a moment in GN'R fandom.

I just wish they'd drop Slither.  It sounds worse in person than it does on YouTube.  And there's no way they aren't aware it sounds like shit.

Waiting to see what they announce tomorrow, but if the headline claim is remotely accurate, this story deserves more attention than anything else out there.

I dig the new song. It's not their best ever but I like it.

Wow....not even playing Toronto...and Pantera as an opening act?! Wtf is that about?

Now you know how the rest of Canada feels when you guys get shows and the rest of the country doesn't. Montreal ain't that far.

Not my take at all.  They're doing Stadium tours, something they haven't done on a mass scale since the early 90s with guns.  Any other stadium show has been a festival or a one off like they did in Pittsburgh, Buffalo and San Francisco recently.  Metallica already runs their own label so they've completely cut the industry out of their control.  Doing these big stadium shows around the country allows for the true fans the opportunity to travel several hours to somewhere and get 2 nights of kickass music.  Pittsburgh and Buffalo certainly didn't suffer attendance this summer despite being smaller markets because they pulled in fans from around the country (and probably globe).

I fully expect them to resume arena shows in 25 where they hit every major market.

They literally did a stadium tour in North America in 2017. They played all over the place. I saw them in Denver and had friends who went to Vancouver and Edmonton, all stadium shows. Volbeat / Gojira and Avenged Sevenfold opened for them.

You're right.  I went to Philly to see them and splurged on the VIP shit.  Never again lol.  Completely forgot that show when I wrote my post.  Still, excluding that, where they only did 25 cities, they usually do arena shows outside of festivals.  The fact that they're doing single digit stadium shows in 2022 and 2023 within North America leads me to believe they're going to resume arena shows to support the new album in 24.

Are they getting over a spoiled brat phase, finally? 16

Don't know if you're being facetious, but Hetfield explained the album is inspired by the damage we all take on being taught our parents and communities values for 18 years and the decades long struggle to overcome that.

Yeah they're getting a lot of crap for the tour. Too many areas missing. Fuck... they're not even doing the Bay Area...their home base!

Los Angeles is the only Cali date. That's ridiculous.

I'm warming up to the song.

I wonder if they'll add a few dates? It's kind of mad that there's no London shows.

Apparently no more dates are being added for 2023-24.

It's why I think it's the beginning of the end.

New album, limited world tour over 2 years, and after that some sort of grand farewell.

We've talked about it before....the 2020s being the decade where much of the 20th century gets wrapped up.

We're going to see a lot more of this in the coming years.

I might go to detroit  as its the closest show to me.  Saw them in Pittsburgh a few months ago and they still fucking rock, though I'm too fucking old to be on the floor anymore.  I could hardly walk the next day.  Love the band, but they keep saying every album since St Anger is the new Master and that's just bullshit.  Hardwired was a solid album, but Death Magnetic and St Anger were dogshit.  I saw they're calling this their 12th studio album, but this is 11 by my count unless they're counting Garage Inc.  Pissed I couldn't get the 5th member exclusive, but I got the smoked version so at least I'll have something "collectible".

Nut job who shot up the nightclub had SWAT called to his house last year and had a standoff. He was arrested for a slew of felonies, but somehow wasn’t in jail. He even live-streamed his stand-off with SWAT last year. And he was allowed to roam free and enact this tragedy.

If someone who threatens to detonate bombs and livestream a standoff with police is immune from enforcement of our laws, what good does passing more laws do.

Some dude just took 18 bullets sitting on his porch 5 miles from me. Just another Monday.

Amazon is selling the kit for $430 instead of $500.  When/if it drops closer to $250 I'll give it serious consideration.

And now I see it's been removed.  Glad I "downloaded" it in YouTube.
