I wonder if it'll get kind of a "True Detective" type of following. I still love that show, but it seems after the 1st Season, it peaked, and no one really cared to see an anthology-sequel season, with a different case, even though I loved Season 2 as much as Season 1. Nobody seems to care when, or if, Season 3 is ever coming, even though as far as I was concerned it was the best crime drama on TV.
Twin Peaks might cater to that group. People that dig these kind of avant-garde type TV shows, and will follow it simply because it is one of the most unique things on TV, like True Detective.

Monkey i'm gonna give you a karma for doing all that detective work... but i'm sorry -- I don't buy it. I just don't.
That's not your fault. I don't know if it's just misquoting by interviewers over the years, Ron not explaining himself over the years, faulty liner notes, or what...
I'll go to my grave stating Buckethead wrote the bulk of Shackler's Revenge, and the guitar solo is HIS WRITTEN material. Thus why he was credited as a WRITER. Thal is only credited for performing the track, as well as the additional rhythm.
I took the outro solo and way over amplified it to bring it up at normal audio levels, as well as removing the main guitar solo. Again... it's gotta be Bucket. It's his tone. His style. Not Ron's.
I will say this... if Ron's work on Shackler's Revenge was all done by HIM and HIM ALONE... then Ron's greatest achievement in his 30-year career beating the pavement was Shackler's fucking Revenge. Nothing else.
I just don't buy he wrote that amazing solo, or anything else in that song. He sucks too much in other places. Or Shackler's was his one hit wonder.
That song has Bucket, Brain & Caram all over it. It even sounds like songs Bucket & Brain were recording outside of Guns at the time.
I just don't buy it. Ron could never properly even duplicate it live, even if it was supposed to be HIS solo. Ron could never play most of Bucket's stuff live, even though he was hired to replace him.
I just don't buy it. It'd be like me trying to credit Gilby Clarke for Izzy's work on UYI as far a i'm concerned.
Like I said... you might be right... but if you are, it was the only time in Ron's career he was good, and it was all downhill after that.

Axlin16 wrote:That drum sound is the missing link from this GN'R reunion.
It's a shame about Steven's issues. Even his drum sound is as integral to the GN'R sound as Axl's voice or Slash's guitar.
That is what the hell I have been screaming. But every time I do ID tells me this is not a reunion and Slash only joined because DJ left and I get sad again and am forced to accept Frank.
But ID is right. You're forced to accept Frank because of Steven.
Steven fucked that boat up long ago. Steven coming back to GN'R is never going to happen, short of a few jam sessions, or possibly studio work, and/or a short AFD-anniversary tour. Something very short.
But Steven's dream was always to play in front of the kind of crowds in Mexico City a couple weeks ago, on the drums with GN'R. He fucked that himself years ago.
The only other option would be Matt Sorum. Although I wouldn't be opposed to that, I just don't see Axl ever agreeing to Sorum returning to GN'R.
The best bet is Frank, unless you want Brain back.

Am I the only one that bought the Adler album? It is great!
I loved it as well.
I think I said in another post, it flat out shocked me that that the 2nd-best post-GN'R album of all the original band members, after Chinese Democracy (Axl), was Steven Adler's "ADLER: Back From The Dead"
I was stunned how good that album was. The Slash track isn't even the best track on the album... or 2nd best... or 3rd or 4th. That's how good that album was.

Better episode but the characters are so fucking stupid it still bothers me. And now strand is gay. Wow. They have jumped the shark now. Haha. I like Enrique I think that is his name. Took out those two folks navy seal style
Dude, where have you been?
I called Strand out as gay when he picked up Nick in the military jail cells.
Strand always had a secret. Not shocked at all he's gay. Or at least was "gay for pay" with the rich dude. There was something about him and the way he looked, talked, and acted with Nick. Something more than a con artist/survivor thing.
I loved tonight's episode. Real tension. Everybody played their parts right. Best episode of the season so far.
Enrique is a total bad ass. Nick saved the day... again. The junkie and the old man (Daniel) have become the most valuable assets of the group.

What demographic is Trump going to win?
I don't think demographics determine wins. I've never bought into it, because the fact it's even tracked is racist, and frankly I don't buy the stats.
How do WE KNOW what the INTENT is of the voter?
We don't, and never will. There's no way to track something like that.
Many Republican insiders, just in the primary numbers, have said that when they tested all of their candidates, none of them tested across the board with significant support from all demos than Donald Trump. Cruz would have like one demo that liked him (think the Christian demo), but others that didn't like Hispanics. Hispanics liked Rubio, yet despite why Cruz & Rubio both said, they didn't appeal to all categories. Same goes for the lesser candidates, and insider jobbers like Kasich.
Trump will win the national election in the same way. He might not dominate one-single demo, but he'll take significant votes in all categories. Alot of white males, some anti-Hillary Democrats, some Millenials, some Hispanics, some Jewish, some Women, etc.
I will agree Hillary is a virtual lock for the majority of Women & Black demos. They always go Democrat, they always do. Jesus Christ go run as a Republican, and they'd vote for Satan if he was on the Democrat ticket. Not sure why... brainwashing I suppose. Can't tell you how many black friends and associates I know that vote Democrat by default, yet know literally nothing about politics. It's like they're programmed or something. Same goes for Christian friends voting Republican.

Hillary winning in a Reagan landslide? No chance. You think she is as well liked as Reagan?
I'm with Axlin to a degree. I don't buy all this Trump hate we keep hearing about. There is simply too many people showing up at his events for this to be as severe as the media claims.
Having said that, my personal support for him has waned. He made a fool of himself on some foreign policy subjects. ONly interested in him sticking it to the establishment at this point. If the maniac Cruz would bow out maybe Kasich could be the viable alternative.
This
To be honest, this is exactly how I feel.
My personal feelings on the people running, is "my guy", the imaginary guy not running, is somewhere in-between Trump & Sanders. The middle ground between those two.
But I also feel, and I say this in defense of Trump AND Sanders... just because you lack foreign policy experience doesn't mean you're not right for the job.
Donald Trump is a Nationalist-Populist. And frankly... Donald has made that VERY VERY CLEAR from day one of him running. Whether he sticks to that or not... that has been his rally cry from day one.
Donald Trump, alot like Ron Paul before him, could give a flying shit what his "foreign policy" is. The two of them want to end the wars, bring everyone home, put up a wall North Korea-style, shut down the borders, and privatize America.
For the time being... i've wanted that for years. I think a TON of America would want that.
The problem is, for people like Hillary and the Bilderbergers and all the New World Order types, that is exactly what they DON'T want. They want UN soldiers, one-world globally... I mean come on... you've got Army Generals telling us in our life time we're gonna have a war with "little green men" and "hybrid soldiers". They talk like our next threat is going to come from the sky. Hillary too. They want the NAU (U.S., Canada & Mexico), the EU... all these sectors of the world. No more sovereignty. Just the UN.
In some ways, Donald Trump represents the last gasp of a by-gone era. A candidate preaching politics that would've been popular back at the turn of the century in Teddy Roosevelt's day. Sanders too. Preaching progressive politics that would've gotten him thrown on the Communist ticket (yes it existed) in America back in the 30's.
It'll be interesting to see how long it'll hold out. Either way... this is it. Someone like Trump, will never, EVER get this close again. No one in America will ever have this discussion again. It'll either be straight-Orwellian future or it'll be Civil War II next time. The establishment will lock down, and see the ace-in-the-sleeve move coming next time.
The only reason Trump got this far, is because he was underestimated. Most establishment people, including those in the outside world thought Trump would be seen as an absolute laughing stock and no one would take him seriously. He's a joke.
They were wrong.

Axlin16 wrote:Cramer wrote:Please do not speak on my behalf, and then argue against that.
Oh and btw, this comment... umm... not sure how to take it.
Isn't this the ENTIRE BASIS of an internet message board?
I thought that was what the 'Reply' button was for...
I think what he means is that you are attributing ideas to him that aren't actually found in his text and then arguing against those propositions as if it was something he said
That keeps the drama up around here.
It's fun to work a feud angle every so often.
I and Trump know that best. lolz
#119 Re: Guns N' Roses » DJ ASHBA: AXL ROSE wanted me to be a part of GNR Reunion » 479 weeks ago
I tried listening to DJ, from his solo stuff to Sixx AM, just to see if there was any hidden potential there for something cool, and it all sucked ass. All of it. Generic, polished, plastic, void of originality, playing. That was the lowest point for me as a GNR fan. It doesn't surprise me he fit with Nikki Sixx.
I have... frankly never... heard DJ suck ass. I've heard every GN'R guitarist, and the three exceptions... Slash, Bucket & DJ... have all had low moments, and some tracks that just didn't cut it... but i've never heard ANY of the three -- suck.
So I disagree there. Strongly.
BUT
I think you do bring up some interesting points. DJ has been associated with Motley Crue since the early 2000's, and has co-written quite a bit of their various projects. He's also been around for producing work.
If you don't like Crue.
You won't like DJ.
If you don't like Brides of Destruction.
You won't like DJ.
If you don't like Sixx:AM.
Well...
So I think it all just depends on what you search for out of a guitarist. I always thought Mick Mars was the most talented member of Crue, but yet as a guitarist, I always felt he used WAY too much whammy bar, and didn't have the muster to pull of tracks that Slash of GN'R, CC DeVille of Poison, or Reb Beach or Kip Winger of Winger, or John Sykes or Adrian Vandenberg or Doug Aldrich of Whitesnake, would've been able to play note-for-note, as a technical virtuoso.
I do agree with DJ's stuff being polished, but when I listen to Sixx:AM, DJ is actually the only part of it that actually stands out to me. To me it's Michael & Nikki who are "kind of stock" to quote Lars Ulrich.
But I will say again... DJ comes from the school of Ace Frehley, Mick Mars, Robbin Crosby (Ratt), Mick Sweda (BulletBoys & King Kobra), and yes... Steve Stevens.
DJ plays that kind of material, but through a modern day rock filter. I would actually go so far to say, DJ Ashba is actually the modern day legacy of the sleaze rock/metal guitarist.
Some people are proud that he's the only guy around that carries that torch. And then there's... you. lol
I also felt the same about Ron's solo stuff. He had talent, but his style was a lot of wankery. Like a poor man's Steve Vai doused in a preteens obsession with Primus
I'm gonna give you a karma for this. This might be the more precise, accurate, spot on description of Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, and why, as hard as I tried, never, ever liked his playing or solo material.
Nailed it here ID.

My first thought hearing that clip, was Axl singing the outro to Coma at Chicago 1992.
It was that good.
