he's too centered to be anyone's alter ego

the "vh only" fans would either get their money's worth and see a great new gnr show or go home early if they are not interested

i doubt there will be much more thought put into gnr's lineup

the two are independent and have nothing to do with each other

uy1 and 2 would have had similar success in this climate w/out promo

the vocals on TIL are "god awful"? I think they are incredible.

better, terrible? which part? it's one of my least favorite songs but i would never describe the guitar or the vocals or the songwriting as "god awful".

None of this has anything to do with slash or duff leaving either.

bumblefoot has a lot to offer
hard rock/blues soloing isn't one of them

very true - gnr (new or old) is a HUGE opening band
they put on a show worthy of headlining a stadium tour but have neglected to stay relevant the last decade.

i love u2 but wasn't really impressed when i saw them live

i think it would be best for gnr if axl sucks up a little pride and takes an opening gig that would expose him to many potential new fans.

i don't know if the u2 gig is the right one for that but what do i know.

u2 fans are an older bunch, mostly, aren't they?
they already know whether or not they like gnr.
gnr needs exposure to a broader audience if axl wants to be huge again.

on the other hand, it makes sense in the name of the mighty dollar.
